#gifts - #Is this a good idea for a one year anniversary + birthday gift?
Hi everyone!My boyfriend and I are celebrating our one year anniversary next month. Just about three weeks after that is his 24th birthday.We both try to put a lot of thought into our gifts to make them meaningful. For example, for my birthday back in April, my boyfriend went to the store and printed out pictures of us and put them in a cute picture frame, because he thought it would help me feel at home (it's really hard for me to ever feel at home anywhere due to my upbringing). I'd like to get him something equally as meaningful for his birthday.For birthday gifts, we don't usually set a budget. However, for our anniversary/Christmas/Valentine's day gifts, we do.Our budget for our anniversary gift is going to be around $150-$180.He has mentioned off hand that he would like to get a record player and build up a vinyl collection. I thought that for our anniversary, I would get him a record player and possibly a few records to go along with it. Then for his birthday, I thought I would get him a specific record of a song that he likes a lot because it's a popular, feel-good song that came out around the time we met (Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop the Feeling).Does these gifts sound like they're good? I feel like I'm the worst gift giver ever so I always have a million doubts! I'm open to other suggestions as well! Also if this would go better in a different sub, please let me know and I'll take this down :)OH ETA: If anyone has any suggestions for record players, I'm all ears for it! #gifts - #I have an idea for a gift but I just can't find anything suitable.
I'm looking for a medium sized, ceramic, oven-safe bowl with a heavy cat theme. My girlfriend really wanted to cook a pizza in a bowl and she's a huge cat fan. She's also going off to uni in september so she'll need supplies so it works doubly as effective. My friend is receiving her Masters soon and is throwing a party for the occasion. She is 36, very well off financially and has an established career. With all of that in mind, I wasn't sure if the standard gifts would work (gift cards, pens, motivational books, etc.).
