I've never bought an engagement present for someone before, so I thought I'd post to this sub for some help. My friend (22m) is having his engagement party September 3rd, and I'm not sure what to get him. His fiancee and he don't have a house, and won't have one for several years (He's a Marine and is stationed across the country). I was thinking a split gift, something for his fiancee (my girlfriend is picking out some sort of makeup pallet for her). And I'm stuck thinking what to get my best bud. He's not fancy, loves rum and video games. But I wasn't sure what would be considered appropriate. Budget of 70-100 dollars ideally, can stretch a bit if necessary. I was thinking perhaps a nice bottle of rum and something else, maybe a movie set or something like that. Any advice on what's appropriate? via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vIwDJT

#gifts - #Ideas for a gift as a thank you to my dentist.
My dentist did some cosmetic work for free today. Fixing a gap in my front teeth that would have been roughly 2500.00 to fix. I asked for her opinion on how to fix it, and without hesitation she worked on my teeth for two hours. She gave my my entire smile back for free! Just out of the kindness of her heart! What could I get her as a thank you gift? The receptionist told me she likes dry red wine. Any other ideas?? She deserves something great! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2v6RVNA
#gifts - #Need a gift suggestion for a host family in Japan. I'm going in late October and am from Virginia.
Basically I'm from Suffolk, Virginia and we need to give them a gift that is reminiscent of where we are from. I'm really bad at thinking of gifts and was looking for some suggestions. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2ic6sXh

#gifts - #Book/chapter related gift- need ideas
I'm giving my boyfriend a promise ring. He gave one to me last year and mentioned starting a new chapter in our life. I wanted to give him the ring in something book related. I was thinking a diy book safe with the ring in there or finding a cutesy book and string the ring in there. He doesn't actually read books but I was trying to think of something book/chapter/pages related. Don't really have time to online order anything. Appreciate any ideas! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2uU36d9
#gifts - #My twin always gives me the best gifts, I need help doing the same!
My twin and I's birthday is coming up and she always seems to find the most unique and perfect gifts for me. I'm the worst gift giver, but need some help this year finding the most perfect gift for her. She's obsessed with her cats, loves cooking (considers herself a foodie), lives with her boyfriend, loves to read, really into makeup, journaling/planning with personalizes planner, and enjoys going to the gym. I'm trying to come up with something that is unique to her and she would really appreciate. Thanks in advance! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2wTapmF
