#gifts - #Valentines Days

I [F20] just recently got into a relationship with a guy [M23] and we agreed to not get each other gifts for valentines day. What is something simple and small just to show my appreciation for him? I'm trying to think of something similar to flowers but for a guy.. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/apxcqf/valentines_days/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Valentines Day is in a few days! Here’s what you need to know about ordering flowers!

Having worked in a flower shop for a few years, I will try to impart some wisdom.Don’t go through Teleflora or FTD or order through a 3rd party.these services cost florists a ton of money, and usually they will need to cut corners to recoup some cost.Sometimes, the flowers may not even be in stock- you will rarely get what the advertiser offers. Some flowers, like roses will be marked up for holidays like Mothers Day or Valentine’s Day due to the sheer demand, so don’t act surprised.Next, flowers are expensive. You are talking about making a profit on something that has a short shelf life and is very perishable. I’m sorry but $25 is probably to absolute minimum you request for a vase arrangement if at all. Flower shops are crazy to me because you have a massive overhead hinging on one of the most perishable goods possible. It’s insane. So what can you do to ensure it all goes well?Let’s say you live in Phoenix, but your loved one is in Seattle.Instead of 3rd party, research florists in their area and look at reviews. Call them directly, earlier the better, and ask them these three things:Do they deliver to your recipients area, and what is the delivery fee?Explain sort of what it is you’d like, basket arrangement, vase, bouquet, size and fill, and the price range they’d offer for such an arrangement. It can troublesome to say, “I need a bouquet as big as a house but I have $20.” Be mindful of their budgets and limitations and keep an open mind.Ask what kind of flowers are in stock and for recommendations. If you have floral preferences, let them know. I remember one lady who would get mad if there was baby’s breath in her bouquets.Taking the time to call a florist directly and doing a little homework will save you in the long run ultimately and there’s better chance you’ll end up with a better product.Florists tend to be independent businesses (granted not always) and to help eliminate the corporate middle man helps them out.Having 3rd parties offer these “amaze-balls” options is like asking an already skilled artist to make prints recreating a Picasso. Florists are artists and let them do their thing.Good luck and I hope this helps some of you out! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/apwvdb/valentines_day_is_in_a_few_days_heres_what_you/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Need a small gift for my boyfriend for upcoming Valentine’s Day

Hello everyoneI was searching for cute gift ideas on reddit and stumbled over this subreddit. Maybe you could help me out ’My boyfriend and me are together for 1 1/2 year, pretty much living together (I live alone but he’s over most of the week) and study together as well. We decided we would get some gifts for each other for Valentine’s Day that aren’t too expensive (around 10-30€). We have already planned to go eating out so that’s not really an option here.I’ve been thinking about various things, but it’s actually really hard to come up with gifts for him, because he doesn’t really like to spend money on things he doesn’t need. He has waaay more money than me, so he could just buy whatever he wants.I’ve already given him plenty of self made gifts, but I’m at the end right now, because everything romantic that comes to my mind is too much for the little thing we decided on.Maybe something he could use to do sports? He told me he wants to go to the gym more and gain muscles so I thought about getting something to help him but I don’t know what.Besides that any suggestions would be appreciated 😊 via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/aprwet/need_a_small_gift_for_my_boyfriend_for_upcoming/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #need to get a gift for my big bro and i’m clueless

first time posting here. my big brother is turning 22 in 2 weeks and i would like to get him something nice, but i’m having trouble figuring out what to get honestly. he’s starting uni in Berlin soon plus he moved in with his girlfriend to a new apartment. he’s a very minimalistic person so i know he wouldn’t like something huge, i’d prefer getting something more sentimental and significant. money isn’t an issue. any ideas? thanks helpers :) via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/aprd2r/need_to_get_a_gift_for_my_big_bro_and_im_clueless/?utm_source=ifttt
