#gifts - #What should I get my SO (30 M) as a graduation present for graduating with a Master’s Degree?

Title basically says it all. I am horrendous at gift giving, no matter how hard I try. He’s a nerdy guy who majored in a STEM field for his master’s degree. He also loves techy stuff. He built his own computer, he has a bunch of cool gadgets (amazon echo, wireless earbuds, chromecast, etc). He also recently picked up woodworking as a hobby, so he’s really excited about anything related to that. However, I am hesitant to get him something related to woodworking, just in case he decides that he doesn’t like it later on. Ideally, I’d like to get him something functional that he can use for many years to come. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3wz0c/what_should_i_get_my_so_30_m_as_a_graduation/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Gift for mom from toddler

I want to get my wife something from our 17 month old son. I have a canvas painting of a picture of him already that he is giving her, but I’d like to add something else for him to give her. Any ideas are appreciated.Special bonus if you have additional ideas I can get my wife. She’s a social worker, enjoys baking (although not as much with the toddler as there isn’t as much free time), movies/tv, shopping, etc. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3vkw9/gift_for_mom_from_toddler/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Need help finding gift ideas for a coworker I hardly know (secret santa).

I (24F) just started a new job in July at a daycare/preschool and I don't know many of my coworkers very well since I spend most of my time with 2-3 of them and see the other 4 a few minutes a day. We drew randomly for names for a Secret Santa amongst the staff and I got a coworker that I hardly know. I have no idea what to get her! We have to give a few small things ($2-10 price range) throughout the week and then one "big" item (max $20-25) at the end of the week. I'm terrible at picking gifts for others, even worse when I hardly know them! Please help, reddit! She's in her 40s, has grown children, married, and teaches primary students (ages 3-6). She's also lactose-intolerant. This is what i got on the sheets of paper we filled out for each other:Restaurants: Thai Orchids, El VallartaShopping: Kohl’s, TargetFood: Salads, Chinese food, tacosFruit: AvocadoCandy: Extra Gum PeppermintPeanut Butter cookies (non dairy)Cherry PieCokeScents: Lilac, Pumpkinany flowerColors: Teal, BlackLikes the Huskers! #gifts - #Gift for Someone Who Likes Craft Beer or Cool Gadgets

I stumbled upon these bottle openers recently and thought they make the coolest gift! They are recycled from broken drum cymbals. I got the card carry version (fits in my wallet), but they also have a dogtag necklace and a keychain version. Ok, I also found a really cool gift for anyone that is learning music theory, or plays guitar, keyboard, bass, etc. It's a music theory wheel that helps you to learn and memorize the Circle of Fifths (and Nashville Number System). #gifts - #I [25M] just started dating my GF [23F] and need creative gifts ideas for Christmas

Okay so I got a new girlfriend, like literally just started dating (less than a month fresh). Lucky for me its right in the middle of holiday season...Anyway's she literally been amazing to me and helping me out in so many ways. She also is so generous and will by things for my apartment, food/drinks when we go out often. For instance, she went to my apartment yesterday without me knowing while I was at work to surprise me when i got home with a bunch of Christmas decorations. Side note: Christmas is my favorite season, and I've been down that i can't go home this year to be with my family. We talked about Christmas and she said she didn't want me to do anything, but I feel she only said this so I don't waste money. This being said, I would love to do something thoughtful for her but i'm struggling to be creative. I love to do things personal, but the issue is I really don't know her THAT well. So far, I plan on taking her to a super nice dinner this weekend and write her a letter with my thanks.Any ideas?TL;DR: Gift giving suggestions/ideas in a new relationship via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3t08p/i_25m_just_started_dating_my_gf_23f_and_need/?utm_source=ifttt

I work in healthcare and am looking to spend no more than $30 each on a handful of my close contacts who refer patients to me through out the year.Trying to think of something outside of branded marketing materials (they already get a lot of that crap from me). #gifts - #Need help finding gift based off an idea

Im a massage therapist who works at a chiropractors office for said chiropractor (not an independent practice within the practice, actually employed by him) and I've known him for almost 6+ years before i started working for him on a semi-personal level beyond just our professional interactions. He's been a huge motivation in my life to improve myself and make strides daily to stay fit, eat healthy, stay positive, and show me the inner workings of running a business and I have definitely made huge strides in my life because of his intentional/unintentional mentoring of me by both my own emulation of the positive attitude he rocks and his own suggestions and advice and helping hand over the years and I definitely wouldn't be where I am if not for him.I wanted to commemorate this idea via a figurine or small statue/design of sorts (thinking something you can leave off to the side on your work desk or on a shelf in the room) that might be something along the lines of two people climbing a ladder or rock climbing a cliff edge or something with the one above reaching down to help the one below, possibly with an engraving of some inspirational quote.I have NO idea where to look for such a gift but would greatly appreciate some input/advice/ideas on where to look or possible who to talk to to maybe commission something simple like this that wont break my bank for a christmas gift to him. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3rvi9/need_help_finding_gift_based_off_an_idea/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Need help encoding a gift card

I bought my friend a gift card for christmas. I want to encrypt the code in a way that its a fun puzzle for him to solve. He's smart and good at math, so just popping it into a program won't do much. I'm probably going to make a box that he'll have to work to open too.Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated. Thanks everyone. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3rbkd/need_help_encoding_a_gift_card/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Looking for puppy gifts

My brother and his newly wed wife have two puppies. (I think) One is a staffordshire bull terrier and the other is an American staffordshire terrier. And while I might call them puppies, they are both 2+ years old. They are both incredibly calm and nice doggos. The smaller one of the two doesn't even bark (unless you stand in the bathtub where he thinks he can't get to you) and is absolutely terrified of umbrellas (we think it's trauma from his days before being rescued... :( ).Anyway, I would love to get them a gift this year, but I know next to nothing about this area of gifting. I know they absoltely destroy most dog toys in a matter of minutes, so maybe something really durble? I could also make some sort of dog treat or something for them if there's a good set of instructions. At this point it's early enough that any suggestion is a good one. Thanks in advance reddit. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3rnm3/looking_for_puppy_gifts/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Christmas gift for a dying step father

Hey all,So I have found myself in a weird predicament that I had never thought about. My step father was recently diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer. The doctors are saying he's probably not going to make it more than 6 months, and more realistically closer to 3 months (from now, his diagnosis came earlier this morning). Christmas is fast approaching, and I have no idea what a dying person would want. He's always been a practical person, but from now on, he'll be pretty much confined to his recliner/bed. Maybe a nice pillow or cushion? But they recently got a new bed with nice new pillows. My mom is planning on getting an electric recliner for him, so I would assume that it would be pretty comfortable.I don't have a whole lot to spend either, I'm a broke college kid. I do have access to tools and have a decent mount of knowledge about carpentry, but I can't really think of anything right now (probably because of the emotions). As per the rule, some things he likes; the Cleveland Browns (thought about tickets, but I highly doubt he would be able to travel at all), he likes tools (but can't really do anything on his own any more). He's been a hobby wine maker for a long time, have he and my mother stopped a couple months ago when his health started deteriorating. Thanks, and sorry in advanced if this isn't the right sub. Any advice would be very much appreciated. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3reyv/christmas_gift_for_a_dying_step_father/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Gift ideas for female coworkers

So this is my last week of work before I move out of state, two of my female coworkers (in their late 20s) are throwing me a little potluck and making me homemade food. What is something cheap and platonic between 10 to 20 dollars a piece that I can get them to say thanks.I was originally going to get a nice meal for everyone but told then unexpected things came up and could no longer do so, they decided to make me something instead. I have a hard time letting others do something nice for me and was insistant on helping out but started thinking that was rude of me so instead I will get them a little gift but unsure what I should get because I don't really buy gifts for people outside of my friends and family.Sorry that was a long story; I have anxiety and overthink things. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a3r7v6/gift_ideas_for_female_coworkers/?utm_source=ifttt

My friend is turning 17 and I really want to get her a gift she’ll like. She’s really into artsy vintage things. She likes thrift shopping, and is kind of a hipster but not really. She likes Vans, Rex Orange County, Post Malone, and YouTubers like Emma Chamberlain. I know this isn’t a lot to work with but I’m basically just looking for something trendy and pastel.
