#gifts - #Men, what are the most thoughtful gifts you have received, alternatively, what would you really appreciate from someone as a gift?
Men of Reddit, what is the most thoughtful gift you have received/alternatively, what gift would you like to receive if anything? Most of the men I have spoken to in my life have explained how much they don’t enjoy their birthdays, don’t really receive gifts nor do they celebrate their birthday. While I know this can be the case for many people, I have a habit of trying to make this day special or at least a little more memorable for the men in my life that I care about or are interested in.I have a major crush on this guy I have been talking to for quite a few months now, he will be turning 25 in a few weeks and I wanted to plan a thoughtful gift. He doesn’t seem like the type to have financial issues, so I’ve been wondering what memorable gift can I get for a man that has or can get everything?!Since we met, he’s mentioned how busy his weeks are with work and gym everyday and on top of it all, he studies for exams. Also, he has never really had a real massage or been to a spa! I’ve offered plenty of times to give a massage and decided to book a spa day for two for his birthday, including use of facilities (pool, sauna and gym) to relax him a little and ease any tension. From a mans’ perspective, is this something that you would appreciate or is this just a very girly gift?! I’m so nervous. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/iijvov/men_what_are_the_most_thoughtful_gifts_you_have/?utm_source=ifttt
#gifts - #How I buy everyone in my class gifts (30 students a class, all girl school) over the year, without spending too much money (buying for girls you don't know too well)
I'm in a class of 30 at an all girls school, and we have written down the birthdays of everyone in the class, and I like to get everyone gifts when it is their birthday, just to be nice. Here's what I do including wrapping, girls I don't know and close friends:•When on holiday in summer, I go shopping with my family, often I let people buy me a couple gifts, of the stuff I want for myself, then I go to the cheapest shops, such as (I'm from the UK) Tiger, primark etc then whatever card shop I find. I can usually get a couple girls both several gifts, so the ones that have the nearest birthdays, I buy for. I usually buy, soap, sweets, stationery and accessories because everyone needs soap, most people I know like sweets, we all go to school and use stationery and accessories because some of the girls use them a lot.•For birthdays during the year, I go to a cheap local card shop, a local supermarket or small (non franchise) shop, because these are mainly cheap but still have decent items, that girls will like. I always make sure that the items all together don't cost more than about £5 for girls I'm not that close with (not including cards)•For the card envelopes, I make sure to decorate them a lot because it seems more personal, and I make it seem like it took a while, but I've gotten quick enough at it that it takes me 5 minutes now, if you're not artsy, just do big happy birthday and their name in bubble writing and add circles or a shape around it, it looks just as good. For the inside of the cards, I like to repeat myself a bit if I don't know how to fill up the space, and mainly just say they're nice. For my close friends I just say they're a good friend and they make me happy, because they only really need to hear that and they'll enjoy your gift. Also, I put separate little drawings of them as a cartoon, but that's only because I like drawing.•For wrapping, I refuse gift bags that people have given me, never to the same person of course, and I tie ribbons around some gifts, then get some tissue paper I have and put it in the bag, I only use wrapping paper of it's one or two bigger items that are square.•When I'm buying for my close friends, I directly ask what they want, then buy that and something additional depending on what they want, if they don't know what they want, either get one of their favourite things or get them some normal stuff and take them to a cafe, your house or ice cream place after school or on the weekend, because personally I prefer to spend time with my close friends than get presents from them, and me and my friends do that everytime someone has a birthday (for a while we just meet in parks as that is the easiest way to distance, and we only ever meet in small groups in the current times, we are staying safe) via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/iihxbq/how_i_buy_everyone_in_my_class_gifts_30_students/?utm_source=ifttt
#gifts - #Gift for old friends 60th birthday
A dear friend from high school sent me flowers for my 60th birthday. Backstory: We’ve never exchanged gifts. We were very close in high school, then saw each other a couple times a year during college. Fast forward through life and the next time I saw her was 2012. Lived in different states. We reconnected in 2019, when I was driving through her town on a trip and stopped to visit and spend the night. Since then we’ve texted occasionally. I was very surprised to get the flowers for my birthday. Now her birthday is coming up and I don’t know what to do. Sending flowers back seems like I’m just paying back her flowers. I’d normally send a card. Any suggestions? via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/iiew0v/gift_for_old_friends_60th_birthday/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Need a gift that doesn't say too much
Hi! Thanks in advance for your suggestions! I need a gift for a 23 female friend. She is not my GF but we have hooked up a couple of times in the recent past. I would like to give her a gift that is cheap and doesn't say too much . It's not that I cannot afford it, but I do not want it to look like 'i made a move'. I need something that says 'hey I remembered your birthday and I got you this while I was out'I was thinking about getting her a book but if I do that it will probably be a book that includes romance and I think it might be weird. I could be mistaken so please shed a light. She studies sociology.EDIT: She wants to be an English teacher via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/ii3u7m/need_a_gift_that_doesnt_say_too_much/?utm_source=ifttt
