#gifts - #Looking for a 1 year dating anniversary gift for my bf (27m)

Hey guys,My boyfriend and I will be dating a year as of September, but I'm trying to plan ahead a bit as I'll be in class during the fall, so I won't be working and want to save now. Our anniversary will be two days before his 27th birthday, so I'm trying to find something nice for him. It's my first long-term relationship so I'm not really sure what an appropriate gift/amount to spend would be. I have no problem spending a lot for a quality item/brand I love, while he prefers to be as economic as possible, so I'm trying to avoid getting something crazy expensive as I don't want him to feel obligated to spend the same on me. At the same time, I'd like to still get him something memorable and long-lasting. For Valentines Day, he surprised me with a pizza stone/ingredients and we stayed in and made pizza/watched a movie I wanted. For my birthday, we'll be traveling to my family's house out-of-state and will be going to NYC, a winery, and a family gathering. So making a meal together/going on a day-trip have already been done...My first idea was to buy him a nice watch, as I wanted to get him one for Christmas but it felt too soon, so this seems like an appropriate occasion to do so. My reasoning is that he would wear it every day, it could be engraved, and isn't something that is likely to get worn out or forgotten. However, as soon as I mentioned I knew what I was going to get him, he immediately guessed a watch and was disappointed that it wouldn't be a surprise. He also likes beer, golfing, video games, bowling, volleyball, etc... The problem is, he's very particular and I don't know much about certain hobbies, so I'm not sure I'd get the right thing. He drinks beer, but I've never seen him use a growler or hear him mention wanting to brew his own... I don't know anything about golf gear, and he's really tall, so I'm not sure if he'd need specific equipment for his height... He already owns a bowling ball, so that's out. Video games don't really feel like a special/memorable gift since we regularly surprise each other with them and he only really plays if he's feeling like having a lazy day. Volleyball isn't a regular sport he plays, just something he occasionally subs in for. He's not into cooking, reading, or traveling. And to top it off, I'm not very craftsy, so I'm not even sure what I would make. Neither of us really take photographs, so making a frame/album doesn't seem like a good fit.Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated :) via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/8rd7sw/looking_for_a_1_year_dating_anniversary_gift_for/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Gift for EX

Just a bit of backstory. I [M20] dated this girl[19] for almost three years we ended on mutual and friendly terms. We both completely cut off communication for a few months. About 2 months ago we randomly ran into each other and from that point we picked back up talking to each other and have formed a pretty good friendship. We're both seeing other people and I want to get a gift that somewhat reflects our history but that is still respectful to our significant others. I think the world of this girl she's a amazing friend and I would like to get her something nice. Any ideas? via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/8r8nld/gift_for_ex/?utm_source=ifttt
