#gifts - #Mother's day Gift for my overly hardworking Girlfriend
Hi,So my story begins nearly 2 years ago when I met my girlfriend. We met at a mutual friends birthday party and immediately hit it off while at this party. We shared a few drinks and everything was going great. I lived about 3 and a half hours away and so the next few weeks we had stayed in contact sending each other messages and things about our day. Soon afterward we had known that long distance relationships were tough but we had decided to give it a shot anyway and we were officially dating. It was nice. We planned ahead of time our schedule and it seemed like every weekend, I was taking getaway trips to go see her. I always had someone I could go to if I ever needed comfort or support. One of the crucial things I've left out so far is that she is a single mother of a little girl who I'm going to refer to as Cinderella. Cinderella is only four years old but this is not an issue for me. She and her Ex-husband were still going through the divorce process and all the while when I was coming to visit, I was hanging around little Cinderella and getting to know her.Fast forward a few months (about 9 months ago) and I have now made the decision to move in with her. I had found a job in the town where she works making around 20$ an hour and it was official. We were now living together. Now the story revolves around a little Cinderella. My girlfriend is an amazing mother. She goes above and beyond for her daughter. She goes to every swim class and dance class and takes time off to make her little lunches for her while at daycare even though she doesn't have to because they feed the kids there. She does all of this while also going to school which she graduates with her Bachelor's in Business in 3 weeks on June 1st, as well as having a full-time job where she takes on way more than she should, always saying yes to anything her company asks of her. She seriously does too much and deserves to know she is appreciated. I myself have fallen in love with Cinderella because she is honestly just an adorable little human who says some of the most fun darndest things.Lately, the ex-husband has been doing really bad as a father. He has gotten an addiction to pills and drugs and has not been there for his daughter. He has been sending threatening and abusive texts to my girlfriend. He even showed up drunk one day to pick his daughter up from daycare. All of this has been an added stress to my girlfriend. What was a 50/50 schedule with Cinderella has now become full time through a modification of the courts and I can see how much exhaustion it is taking on my love to see her have to deal with her Ex-Husband every single day. It is taking a toll on her.I have Ella all day today and my girlfriend is working so I thought it was perfect. I wanted to show her how proud I am of her and how much she should is appreciated for everything she is going through and how amazing she has been to Cinderella. I planned a few small thoughtful gifts for her for Today. Mother's Day to show my appreciation. For starters, I was going to get her a mother's day card. Simple one. Nothing too fancy. But inside I was going to have written a Q&A answers portion of me talking to Cinderella about all the things she likes about her mom, and what her favorite moment was with her mother, etc.. Something very thoughtful and sweet. (Especially since Cinderella literally says the sweetest darndest things.) Secondly, I had seen this painting kit at Michael's that was perfect. It was a bunch of coasters and cups that you can paint put in the oven and make like ceramic type pictures for only 10$. A classic but special gift for any mother and since I have Cinderella all day today, we would have the time to pull it all off before she gets home and back from work. The only problem is........... My girlfriend did my exact idea yesterday with her daughter!!!!!! She was off and I had to work. When I got home I found out that they had bought the exact kit from Michaels and had painted these adorably cute cups together! AHHHHHHH! NOOOOOOO! My plan! I need to think of something and something quick for today. I don't have any more fresh ideas to do and I have already tried to google some gifts on google but they all seem generically plain and not exactly the most thoughtful. I really want this one to be a special mother's day for her which is why I decided to turn to reddit. If anyone has some ideas or can explain some of the best gifts they've ever received I will be forever eternally grateful.P.S - Sorry for the long post. My Budget is relatively cheap. Something hopefully less than 100USD or so. I dont have too much to spend. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/bnp6ok/mothers_day_gift_for_my_overly_hardworking/?utm_source=ifttt
