#gifts - #Opinions on homemade gifts?
I don’t have a lot of money, and because of hour cuts I don’t have enough to really go all out for Christmas. I have bought my SO some gifts. I got him some t shirts, keychains, mostly inexpensive things. I’m broke this year and I’m trying to make my money last through everyone. And what I was thinking was making him a miniature scrapbook with pictures from his Facebook. I’m also making him a pun jar with 365 terrible puns all inside. (Don’t judge our hobbies lmao). And I’m a graphic artist and so I’m also working on a painting of darth Vader on the Jurassic Park T. rex for him. However I guess I just need advice with it. He hasn’t really had a great Christmas since his parents passed away, but I don’t want it to get too weird. What would you think if your SO gave you homemade gifts for Christmas? Is it too dorky? Or would you like it? And if you would What’s something you’d like to receive? via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a5eez2/opinions_on_homemade_gifts/?utm_source=ifttt

I really want to get my stepdad a gift for Christmas I got him a small mp3 player so he can hear music but he has a hard time using it, he isn't a big technology guy. #gifts - #Christmas gift for boyfriend’s mom?
Details: I’ve been dating my boyfriend for 6 months. We’re both in high school, so it’s not extremely serious but I’d say we have a strong relationship and I spend a lot of time with his family and I’m sort of close with his mom.His mom is a dental hygienist who works a lot. When she’s not at work she is usually at a local bar with her husband or at home just relaxing. She’s super funny and sweet, and I have no clue what to get her! I wanna get her something she’ll really appreciate, and all my boyfriend can think of is flowers but I think that’s too generic. Any advice is appreciated!! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a5ds7w/christmas_gift_for_boyfriends_mom/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Family doctor of 25+ years retiring - need ideas
My family doctor is retiring. I've been seeing him since I was a toddler, 25+ years. My final appointment with him is Friday. I have many health issues that he has listened to and offered suggestions. Most notably, he was the doctor that found my thyroid cancer after another specialist passed the buck. In a way, he's been one of the most stable role models in my life. He's retiring to spend more time with his family and pursue other endeavors. We never had much time to discuss his life so I'm not sure of any interests.Does anyone have any small gift ideas? Obviously, a heartfelt note, but I want to also give him a token of my gratitude, appreciation for his great care and listening for so many years. Something inspirational to welcome him to the next chapter of his life.I was thinking a book and found some great books written by doctors: Mountains Beyond Mountains, When Breath Becomes Air. Most of them seem better suited for new doctors though and kind of morbid for a retiring doctor. There's a retirement book, How to Retire Happy, Wild, and Free, that takes a different approach to offering retirement advice, but that seems almost clinical. Finally, I thought about a Dr. Suess book. Oh The Places You Will Go because he's pursuing other endeavors, but that seems cliche. Or You're Only Old Once but again, maybe a little morbid. All ideas welcome and appreciated! My budget is about $30-40. Thank you! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a5bwne/family_doctor_of_25_years_retiring_need_ideas/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #[Colleagues] Looking for personal DYI little somethings for colleagues
Hello guys,I am looking for some creative gift ideas for my team at work. We are pretty close to each other but every gift idea I have seen so far for colleagues was pretty basic and not personal. I am looking for something that "lasts forever" and can be personalised. Like little vials filled with something whats color can be varied and you can paint the names on the vials or something like this, but have not really found anything I would personally like so far. I would also gladly give some sort of "forever" plants like mini christmas trees and sorts but have no idea where to begin. The point is that I would like it to be something DYI (or more precisely do it myself :)).It would be cool if it was around 10 USD each.Could you help me out here, please? Pictures and descriptions are greatly appreciated! Thanks! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a5b66c/colleagues_looking_for_personal_dyi_little/?utm_source=ifttt

Likes cooking.Talks about her dog like it was his son.She is devious and likes to get things done by herself if things are not going her way. There are occasions in which she tells me that she can be very crafty. She fixes her own appliances/utilities at home.Dont know much about this event and the meaning of it. Thought that a swiss army knife was a good idea for it so she could see it as a reference point of what her coworkers see/think about her. Started a new job about 2 months ago and for the secret Santa I got a man I really don’t work with frequently and I don’t know anything about him. He’s probably 55 and a chef where I work. All I know about him is that he smokes cigarettes. I’ve asked around at work for suggestions but he is also fairly new and no one really had any suggestions for me besides “gift card” but I’d like to do something a little more unique than a gift card. Plus no idea where he’d want a gift card to. Thanks! #gifts - #Unique Gift Needed for My Ma
Hi there! As the title says I'm looking for a gift idea for mom for Christmas. Something(s) she can use and really enjoy. Rough budget $60-70 per item but this is NOT my cap or total budget. I would spend more, especially if the item is good. (Just nothing super crazy I'm not rich, aha)She enjoys reading. Diana Palmer, mystery/crime and romance mostly. Jewelry. Animals cats and dogs mostly. She's not a plant fan or really a cooking fan. She loves Christmas movies and softer rock. She does need some new clothing too so I could probably add some of these. Some jeans or shirts/sweaters. She's not a giant makeup fan but does wear on special occasion. She's fairly young so is familiar with tech, has a computer and smartphone, etc.Last Christmas I got her a laptop and I took her and my sister out for a mini vacation out of town for her Birthday. (Something we're looking to do again but not anytime soon)Anyone got anything good for me? I'm at a loss here at least for something bigish.Edit: she also enjoys games/board games. We used to play Sly Cooper together, Crash, bannanagrams, exploding kittens, Monopoly, etc. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a55mxy/unique_gift_needed_for_my_ma/?utm_source=ifttt
