hi everyone!my boyfriend and i have been dating for almost a year now. time has really flown by and i’m really excited to spend the next year (if not the rest of my life) with him. i know it’s not necessary for me to get him a gift, but i really want to. he’s the only man in my life that i’ve ever truly loved, other than my father. problem is, i want to get him something really nice, but i can’t afford anything “too nice”. i’m a struggling university student living a pretty simple life whereas he’s a man with a career who isn’t living paycheque to paycheque. he got me a gold necklace for valentine’s day and my gesture was to cook an three-course italian dinner for him.march 30th is our anniversary date. i often feel bad because he gets me expensive things that i personally can’t afford whereas i can only do/make things for him. i know he appreciates it no matter what and he’s not looking for anything nice. our relationship is like an investment and i know the day i become a lawyer at my dream firm, i’ll be able to provide for him like he does for me.that being said, i still want to get him something. he wears a lot is suits, so i think i could probably afford to get him a nice accessory or something. i was thinking maybe a nice tie? my budget is nothing over $100 (my wallet is sobbing) but i know that if i get something for him that’s versatile, he’s love it even more. the suits he wears on a more regular basis are a plain grey suit, a box patten dark grey suit, and a navy suit. not quite sure what colour/pattern i should get, but i know he’s not a huge fan of super busy/colourful patterns.if anyone has any ideas (about ties or other gift ideas), that would be amazing!thank you! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/av2nda/my_20f_boyfriend_24m_and_i_are_celebrating_our_1/?utm_source=ifttt
