Hi everyone. Chronic depressive over here. So I have been chronically depressed for most of my life, I am 30 now and can say that with confidence, because I am so happy and at peace now, I can see how my way of thinking for nearly 20+ years has been destructive for myself.When I was in the middle of the second biggest depressive doubt of my life about four years ago, I knew I needed help and I google psychiatrists and happened upon my doctor. He is a kind, gentle man who never gave up on me. It took two years and my getting worse to find the sweet spot of medication that lifted me from darkness, can’t recommen medication enough.So recently my life has blown up in a huge way (I’m talking about working in the frontline in politics, and the biggest political scandal of my country, and witnessing all I believe in being a lie and my job disappear), but I’m good I’m great I feel free. Anyway, during this time I just kept on forgetting my medication. And it’s been two months without and I feel fine, but I know this is not the way to get off antidepressants so I made my appointment which is two weeks from now.This dude hasn’t seen me in two years, he emails me sometimes but has no idea what happened to me, how I am etc. And besides from giving me a checkup, I want to gift him something as an appreciation. He really saved my life.I plan on giving him the book “reasons to stay alive” for other patients that might need it, but want to give him something else, that doesn’t make him uncomfortable and cross ethical boundaries. We met only 3 months ago, so unfortunately I don’t know him well enough to immediately know what to give him, although I have some small ideas. Since I have to be on the train for an hour and we’re going for a walk, it should be something small that can be carried easily.
