She's turning 18 in a few days, and I'm planning to visit her. I don't want to spend a /lot/, but I still want to get something decent. She's 17, super tall, wants to be a welder/car body repair person. She's a passionate artist and loves lord of the rings and cats. She strongly dislikes reading (dyslexic) and is planning to move to school this upcoming year. She's not super girly, and while she loves art, but doesn't have a lot of time to do it recently (or I'd just get her supplies). Any ideas?I'd prefer to not craft anything. I live in an apartment and I'm going to see her on saturday. I likely don't have time or the correct crafting space. Hi there! I want to get a pair of prescription sunglasses for my significant other for christmas, but i'm not actually 100% sure how to go about doing this. I have his prescription information, but that's about it. I don't know how I would go about getting glasses for someone else, or where I could get the most bang for my buck. is this something typically covered by insurance? is this a bad gift idea? I know he needs a pair, he's a marine and they have given him the medical OK to wear them all the time, if that matters. My wife is super frugal - gets mad (not legitimately mad, but you understand) if I spend much money even on gifts for her. Thing is, she's amazing and I want to show her my appreciation. I'm willing to make something, but I want it to be nice quality - not like the gifts four-year-olds give to their moms.About me (in terms of making things): somewhat handy, but not excessively - somewhere between basic and intermediate skills - probably closer to intermediate. Pretty complete set of hand tools plus electric drill, R-O sander, circular saw. I like to do projects which is why I'd love to try to make soemthing.About her: Fitness (running) guru; dedicated teacher; highly devoted mom; extremely social; needs to stay busy; recently published children's book author; keeps the family afloat (cruising, really); somehow able to do it all.Any ideas you can think of would be helpful and appreciated.
