#gifts - #Gift for boyfriends 31st!

Hi all!!My boyfriend is super active; involved in crossfit, hiking, and anything really outside! He's not one for too much clutter or anything like that, although he loves magic and cool (but useful!) gadgets. He's a huge Raider fan as well.Any ideas on what to gift? I was thinking maybe some kind of outdoor trip or activity since he loves making memories over having "things". We live in Northern Nevada (Reno/Tahoe area) if anyone knows of anything cool to do! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/74hego/gift_for_boyfriends_31st/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Gift for girlfriend

Hey guys , just needed a little help with choosing a gift and I thought I'd take your help. I recently learned that my girlfriend has drawn and painted a poster of an album I really love for my birthday and I have no idea what to get her in return. I'm terrible at art and even though I could probably do the same for her I don't want to copy her idea.Since I'm in high school I'm short on funds but after subtracting all the expenses on going out and other gifts for her birthday I still have ~120$ saved for her. I was looking into DIY gifts but nothing really struck my fancy. After that I spent some time looking for unique gifts . One thing I really loved was the DinoSphere , and I live in Asia. I have relatives who come over frequently but I was unsure whether it would survive the flight , weather changes etc. She's really big on Star Wars , The office , friends and I'm really looking into anything I can buy or make that'll be super memorable . If anyone has any suggestions do let me know , I really would appreciate it . Thank you ! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/74f4pq/gift_for_girlfriend/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #[gift suggestions] for crush

There's a girl I've been talking to that I like and it's almost her birthday. I'm trying to find something I know she'll love, but still not go overboard with it. She likes me too, so I'm not trying to win her over, just make her happy. She collects little versions of regular things. I asked her some items she already has and she mentioned a small spatula and some tiny hot sauce bottles with hot sauce in them. She said she isn't into fake little things. Like dollhouse items wouldn't be the same. I was thinking of a miniature grandfather clock as I can find them on ebay for about $25 and they're functional. Is that a nice gift for someone you're into? Also she's into drawing and is really good at it. She already has a pencil set and sketch pads and stuff. I was thinking about buying her a 3D pen, but I'm not sure she'd like that as much. I'm trying more for the 'aww' factor than a 'oh how cool' factor. Any insight would be appreciated. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/746hb6/gift_suggestions_for_crush/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #[Gift suggestions] gift for girlfriend

hey guys, i've been dating this girl for about 6 months so it's not like things are incredibly serious at the moment. We are both 28 years old.she is finishing her residency here in my city at the end of the year and will be moving back home so we will have to try a long distance thing.she's a huge harry potter fan, her favourite show is friends, she's a doctor, she loves foodI'm hoping to get her something that isn't too cheesy but maybe something practical like a pair of really nice touch gloves and maybe a harry potter scarf or something like that, but some advice would be greatly appreciated and I'm open to any suggestions.I think getting a few little things that she likes and can use would be the best thing to do, so even suggestions for little cool things that i can throw in would be awesomealso, I forgot to add that she will be back home for her birthday so I won't be with her. Not sure if that changes anything but I can't really take her out for a nice dinner or something until she comes back, and I'd probably just give her the gift before she leaves? via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/748v4l/gift_suggestions_gift_for_girlfriend/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #[Gift Suggestion] I'm making a video of 45+ of my GF's friends from near and abroad sending clips saying 'Happy Birthday ____'

Obviously I bought her a tangible gift too but I think this one is really gonna bring out the waterworks. She's 24, 2 years out of college with a semester in Europe too, and has tons of friends EVERYWHERE. Conversely, she doesn't have as many friends back home, and sometimes talks about missing her friends. I've got 20~ clips so far and waiting on about 30 more (confirmed 30), and the video is looking awesome. I put The Office theme in as a temporary music piece and it fits very well.Feel free to copy this idea because it's amazing. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/746vht/gift_suggestion_im_making_a_video_of_45_of_my_gfs/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #[Gift suggestions] 80 and 83 YO grandparents

I'm trying to come up with Xmas gifts for my grandparents, thinking of around a $50 budget. Neither of them should be driving anymore, so they should be things they can use/do at home. My grandma had a minor stroke last week and has mobility issues - we purchased a cane and walker for her, are getting house cleaning services and yard care services arranged for them (they're paying, but we're doing the arrangements). My grandpa is hard of hearing and we also just bought him a voice-to-text automatic captioning phone to replace their current landline.I'm already thinking of an easy-open jar opener, because they have one that's like 30 years old and really hard to use and neither of them is any good at opening jars anymore. But I'm thinking they're going to be bored stiff, with no house or yard work and obviously no jobs. We got my grandpa a leather-bound autographed version of Leon Panetta's memoir for his birthday earlier this year and that went over really well, he's really into history and my grandma loves Harry Potter, she has the full hardcover set, all the movies and a set of HP bookends and figurines. They really liked Planet Earth, so I'm thinking of getting them the Blu-Ray set of Planet Earth II, and maybe a puzzle with large pieces so it's easier to deal with? Any other suggestions?TL;DNR - Need in-home entertainment for old people. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/744xw1/gift_suggestions_80_and_83_yo_grandparents/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #[Gift Suggestions] My stepdad doesn't like anything!

My stepdad's birthday's coming up and I have no clue what to get him. He likes history, music, and football. He has Lupus and has a strict diet and can't go in the sun or do much exercise. He owns a jewelry store with his aunt and hates his job. He likes comedy specifically Louis CK and Jim Jeffries. In the past I've given him some American history books, a bust of Abraham Lincoln (his favorite president), a personalized guitar pick, a vr headset, etc all of which have since been lost or ignored. I'm at a loss and an about to get him some extra phone chargers and calling it a day. He's not active or techie, doesn't cook or have any kind of hobby. He's a socialist and hates Trump. Trump toilet paper was a hit a few years back. He likes to sit on the couch and watch 90 Day Fiance. What the hell do you get someone that doesn't like anything? via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/742uid/gift_suggestions_my_stepdad_doesnt_like_anything/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #[Offerring] Personalized story drawing as a warm gift

Hello all, I've figured that the most pleasant and exciting gifts that were ever made for me were personalized: amazing big portrait of me which depicted my hobby and lifestyle (traveling and love for cheese), a quest, for which I was running through the whole city, finding and solving riddles that were crafted especially for me and so on.So, I did a little research and asked friends, relatives and random people about their gift preferences. My theory confirmed - all people love personalized gifts, made especially for them. That's why I decided to launch http://purpura.ink/ It's a service that helps you to get awesome personalized drawing gifts for your beloved ones. You can tell us a story, and our team will embody it in a very special, warm drawing. We're just a few days old as for now, but I already feel so good that we got a chance to help several people. Please, let me know what do you think about this kind of gifts? We're seriously planning to leave the country for good in the next few months and I as an expat know how sometimes you might miss your homeland. #gifts - #Gift for my girlfriend's birthday

Here's some context first: We've been together for only a month or so. She's 19, I'm 22 and we met through working together during the summer. I went back to uni a couple of days ago while she will keep working for another 10-15 days. So we don't see eachother every day but only on the weekends when I come back home from uni for a few days. Her birthday is in 20 days. Since we both like drawing and are quite talented (although my drawing skills are quite rusty due to not practicing it during the last couple of years) so I thought I'd draw something for her birthday. At first I was going to draw one of the things she likes the most, which is drawings of animals combined with nature something like this. She drew this herself. But then I thought, what if I drew a short, cute comic, or even just sketches of the past few months, including how we first met, the first glances of love, the first time I kissed her etc.. Would that be too cheesy? Or just too much, considering we've only been together for a while?Sincere thanks for any and every advice! <3P.S. I'm in love with her..very much so :3 via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/73znmi/gift_for_my_girlfriends_birthday/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Gifts and other items to help my 5 yr old nephew!

Hi! This may not be the best place to post this and if not and have a better suggestion please let me know! Thanks in advance.Anyway my 5 yr old nephew is doing some fundraising and he needs some help. We live in a VERY small town in oklahoma and we haven't lived here very long and most of the people in town have already helped the local fundraisers through people they know. Which is awesome, but makes it rather tough to raise funds for families that are new to the area! The school got him super excited about the possibility of earning some of the prizes and had his heart set on winning a few and didnt really understand what is expected to win the prizes. (Of course this happened he is a 5 yr old) and we are a low income family ourselves and really unable to make much of a dent in the quota necessary for him to reach those prizes, but we have purchased what we could to help him and his school. Anyway they made it possible to make sales online as well (even though they're 4 and 5 yr old) and I haven't had a regular social media presence in quite some time so my help is very limited when it comes to people I know on facebook or anything. Anyway I would feel terrible if I didn't do everything I could to help him through any means possible, hence this post. The link I'm providing leads to the website where various gifts and things can be purchased to help with his fundraiser he is participating in. Any glance to this page is extremely appreciated and especially any purchase made will be and also looked at as a gift to him in hopes that he may be rewarded with the prizes he has set his heart on. Thank you to anyone reading this! He has made a small amount of sales completely on his own and a few from our friends, family, and co-workers but the look of disappointment when most everyone said they were or had already bought from other kids at his school just broke my heart.... Anyway thank you REDDIT!!!LINK: www.gaschoolstore.comPlus please use his student ID NEPHEWS ID: 24MABP7 via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/739tyu/gifts_and_other_items_to_help_my_5_yr_old_nephew/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Citizenship Gift Ideas?

I work for an immigration attorney and we're looking to purchase gifts for our clients upon their completion of the citizenship process. We don't want to get them something kitsch or like a novelty item that will end up on a closet shelf, either... we were thinking like a nice pen set for their desk, or even a tote bag, or something...? Looking for something practical. Our clients are mostly middle aged, many with families. Most are from Central America, but we do get a few from Europe. We're located in Houston, in case anyone has an idea based in location. We're also trying to keep costs down so that we can afford to do this for every client. We're a small office (literally two attorneys, two legal specialists, and an admin!) so we don't have a ton of money to burn, but we love our clients and try to make this huge, scary, intimidating transition easy and rewarding for them. #gifts - #Looking for gift ideas for a man who never wants anything!

My boyfriend's birthday is in a couple of weeks, and I'm tearing my hair out trying to think of something to get him that he'll actually really like. The problem is that he's really not very materialistic, so whenever I ask him what he'd like for a gift, he can never think of anything. We've been together for three and a half years, which means three birthdays and three Christmases have gone by and I've never knocked it out of the park. He's always been grateful and appreciative, but he's never been blown away by any of my gifts. The other day he said he bought my first Christmas present, which is making me even more determined to get him something good! Some stuff about him:He's going to be 35, I'm 33, and as I said, we've been together 3.5yrs. We live together in a house we own, with no garden, and we don't have children or pets. We're in the UK, so anything that would need to be delivered would need to either be in the UK or be able to get to the UK in the next two weeks. I'm probably looking at spending around £150, either on one big gift or a few smaller ones.He tends to spend most of his free time doing one of the following: working out, playing Magic: The Gathering, or playing video games (he has a PS4, Switch and 3DS). He only listens to music on his commute, via Spotify on his phone (so no point buying him a CD or anything), and already has a good pair of headphones. When we're spending time together, we tend to do one of the following: watch TV/movies, play co-op video games together, play board games/card games, or just generally hang out and chat. We don't go out too much because I've been getting over an illness. The only things he buys for himself regularly are video games and MTG cards. However, he prefers digital downloads of games, which means I wouldn't really have anything to physically hand to him, and I wouldn't have the first idea of which MTG cards he needs, because he's always changing his mind and putting new decks together. He's just recently bought himself a load of new clothes (for both work and leisure) because he had a gift card from his mum from a previous birthday that was about to run out. It is literally the first time since we've been going out that I've seen him spend money on clothes (apart from some shorts before a holiday, and even then he just bought three identical pairs off a sale rack), so in theory he won't need any more new clothes for at least another three years. Grrr.He learnt to drive this year, but doesn't do it very much alone (he commutes on public transport). He's not really into cooking, but he loves sandwiches. He'd eat nothing but sandwiches for the rest of his life if I'd let him. He drinks a lot of peppermint tea, and enjoys good coffee but very rarely drinks it, because he reacts badly to too much caffeine. He likes sports in general, doesn't really follow any particular sports team, but he enjoys MMA (mixed martial arts). UFC is probably the only sport he watches regularly. He isn't too much of a reader - he has a Kindle, but the only time he really reads a lot is when we're on holiday. He has a very silly sense of humour, and loves anything to do with dogs, elephants or toucans (yep, toucans). His drink is whiskey, but I bought him a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue last Christmas, so I'll probably struggle to top that to be honest. He isn't really too much of a drinker as a general rule, he usually just has a couple of glasses on a Saturday night.Past gifts I've bought him include t-shirts with funny stuff on them, a mug, a new 3DS, Lego, and fluffy socks (the one gift he actually dug - he always gets cold feet and one day found an old pair of fluffy socks of mine that I haven't worn in years, and adopted them, so for Christmas that year I bought him four pairs of his own with non-slip stuff on the bottom so he could wear them as slippers). I also took him on a murder mystery train ride once, which he actually loved, but I don't know if I'd be able to do this this year.Help! Any ideas leaping out to anyone? I feel like I'm too close to it - I just keep staring hopefully at Amazon hoping it'll suddenly generate a list called "Gift Ideas For [Boyfriend's Name]". #gifts - #Help me [25F] find gift for (new) boyfriend [35m]

We’ve only been together a couple of months but have known each other for a couple of years. His birthday is coming up. I’m trying to see if we can both take time off work to take him on a trip for a few days. But if that’s not possible, I need to get him a gift. The problem is that because of the age difference we don’t have a lot of the same interests. His music taste is much better (he’s a part time musician too), while I listen to whatever’s on the radio, which he hates ha!He’s very picky and particular about a lot of things. Doesn’t like theatre shows / musicals. He said he’s very picky about stand up comedy shows. He’s not on social media. He doesn’t have any huge hobbies or outside work activities (like going to the gym...)I don’t want to get him clothes / cosmetics, that’s well boring. He’s not very geeky, I know he sometimes plays games on his computer, no console. But I don’t want to get him something related to that, don’t know anything about that stuff and he’s not so into it like other guys. He’s also moved recently into a new apartment, very modern. His place is way cleaner and nicer than mine and 24/7 tidy. Maybe something home related? But he keeps it quite minimalistic so maybe nothing too intrusive. He’s also a great cook, better than me ha! Maybe something cool that’s food related?I literally have no idea. Googling “unique gifts” or similar terms doesn’t help as results are mostly silly blog posts for teenage-like gifts lol. Please help! :) via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/72nc42/help_me_25f_find_gift_for_new_boyfriend_35m/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Gift ideas for a Larper?

I'm already planning my gifts for this upcoming Christmas, and this year I have to include my boyfriend's family on my list! Right now I'm a bit stuck on his brother... I haven't met him but he's a gamer and is really into larping. I was thinking maybe some sort of high end make-up? But I'm honestly not sure. This is a tough one.Any suggestions would be appreciated! :) via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/72qodr/gift_ideas_for_a_larper/?utm_source=ifttt
