To celebrate one year together, I made an app for my girlfriend. I learned some Java skills and made the present completely from scratch, with a passion that I learned, and that she will always have with her (assuming that she has her phone and it has a charge, but it's 2017, so it's almost a given!). I'd post screenshots of it, but it's all personal stuff, and mildly embarrassing quotes and in-jokes.The main part of the app was a little swipe gallery of quotes and things telling her about how much I loved her and other things that she could just read whenever I wasn't with her, or having a rough time. I also had a gallery of pictures of her and I, that I snagged off of our phones and stuff, and a secret bit, that was a letter to her. There is also a daily notification that says something cute to her, just to bug her/make her smile. I downloaded and installed the app to her phone when she wasn't looking (we got a hotel room and a nice dinner and stuff) only letting her know it was there via a text, just to confuse her a bit. The next day, we met up with a few of our friends, and they thought it was one of the coolest things. Up until a few weeks ago I lived with my husband (T) his younger brother (D) and D's best friend ( A). We got along well and everyone seemed happy. D shot himself while T and I were watching a movie in the next room on A's birthday. There were zero warning signs he was laughing with us moments before and had packed his lunch for the next day showed no signs of depression. Everyone was shocked and heart broken. Long story short A's mom housed T & D's dad and step family ( Mom died when they were teenagers) who lived out of state for the week. Helped plan the funeral and generally was a god send and an angel all week. She was close to D as well He lived with them for almost two years when he was younger. I want to get her something really cool to thank her for everything. They are fairly well off so I am having trouble knowing what to get. A said she would like something that is reminiscent of D but has no idea what.
