#gifts - #I'm a guy in High School and I want to give a birthday present to one of my best friends who is a girl in my class. I want to give her a teardrop shaped amethyst (cheap version I think), that I've shaped myself from an amethyst stone (already); in a necklace (haven't done yet).

Can I do this even though I have no intention of hitting on her (should I explain that?), and do you think she would appreciate it even though she's not interested in me other than as a friend? Or should I cancel this and get something else? Or should I make it as another sort of jewelry?
