#gifts - #Looking for a gift for my husband (M30) he wants a new electronic shaver

Hello all, first time posting here. My husband's birthday is at the beginning of September so I'm starting to think about gifts. His old norco (sp?) triple headed electronic razor is starting to crap out so I thought I'd look into that for his birthday. I'm hearing a lot of hype about Braun (specifically series 7 and 9) and I'm just wondering if it's worth the hype (and price). Is there something comparable on the market that costs less but gives the same results? Some important info about my husband: four years ago he was in a motorcycle accident that left him with hypertrophic scarring on his face and neck (left side). Hypertrophic scarring is when the scar is raised due to an excess production of collagen. His is pretty crazy because of all the glass when he went through the lady's window (she cut in front of him). Some hair is growing between the scars and its impossible to shave. He has to Nair his face to be completely clean shaven. He's considering electrolysis but it's not as big of a concern as fixing other things first. So I guess he needs something that will be able to contour to his face very well and won't irritate his skin. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vBmm2q
#gifts - #Need Gift Basket Item Ideas - New Mom, Dad & Baby

I want to make gift baskets/care packages for my bro and his newly growing family. I'm less concerned about baby, cause they've been getting gifts and prepping for a while. I do want to put together something for my nerdy, active brother and his positive, sporty wife. I'm thinking individual baskets for both of them and like a stuffed animal or birthdate star maps for baby.Do you have any thoughts? Something that as a non-parent I miss knowing re:gotta haves? via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2hxqqep

#gifts - #8th Anniversary Gift Ideas

Every year for our anniversary , I try to get something personalized and unique for our home based on the traditional anniversary gift. Last year for the 'copper' anniversary I got a copper Moscow mule mug with our monogram. I can't think of what to do for this year's 'bronze' anniversary. Hey, for my girlfriends birthday I have decided to make up a word search for her that has words related to things we've done in our relationship. I've also gotten are a lot of other things to but I don't know the best way to present this gift, most likely it will just be printed on an A4 piece of paper but would love any suggestions.Apologies if this is the wrong subreddit for this. Thanks :) via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2usEt6p
#gifts - #Need opinions/help with Travel Journal for GF

My GF gave me a blank notebook for my birthday last year. On the front it says "On the Go", meant to be a travel journal. I love it but I haven't done anything with it yet.Her birthday is a month. I have memorabilia from everything we've done and everywhere we've been. My idea is to glue these in chronological order, leaving space for me to write little notes, quotes or memories from the event. Then give it to her to go through, and add to it later.I'm looking for opinions, suggestions or examples of other travel journals like this. I can post pictures as I go along if people are interested.I appreciate your help! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2wrW8g3

Hello! So my sister is an artist, and is in love with both the Avatar series and any Ghibli production. In the past she's mentioned the beauty of art books and so that's what I've decided to buy her!I picked out three art books and am trying to figure out which is best. #gifts - #Moving out - DIY gift ideas to give entire family?

I'm moving out in 1 month. I want to get my entire family a single (or maybe series of smaller - not sure) gifts. I have racked my brain but can't think of anything 'special'. It'd be nice if it was a bit memorable. I thought maybe a gift basket (or too cliche?)? Favourite food for each family member? Ahh Idk I just feel like my ideas are too simplistic.I've looked online but google always gives me gifts for the students from the parents - I want the other way around.Any ideas from the gift-giving experts? ;)Thank you! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vkqtQL
#gifts - #Wedding gift for Japanophile couple?

I can't for the life of me think of anything good enough to give them. I was playing around with the idea of getting them a dinner with a geisha (they're set to go to Japan next year) but the price was too steep. I am all out of ideas so I need help! Please and thank you, everyone! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vkHg6a
#gifts - #Birthday gift for best friend with no hobbies?

My best friend's (26F) birthday is coming up and I have no idea what to get her for a present. I love her dearly and am usually excellent at gift ideas, but there's just nothing she likes! She and her husband are pretty well-off, so they don't need anything. But she also doesn't have any real interests or wants. She does like to cook/bake and enjoys wearing makeup, but she's so particular that I'm not even sure where to begin with it. She kind of leans toward the organic/crunchy products and all much higher-end/expensive. She doesn't care about her job, and doesn't have any other hobbies, so those aren't sources of ideas.Budget is about $50-$100 initially.... I'm pretty flexible. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2u1Fh2F
#gifts - #Help finding a birthday gift for my roommate!

I live with my college roommate and his girlfriend, and the girlfriend's birthday is coming up. We're close but don't share a ton of interests so I'm hoping you kind folks can help me find something special for her! She's very into organizing and interior design (she works with both a professional organizer and at a high end furniture store), as well as filmmaking and gluten-free cooking. These are kinda broad strokes, but the main avenues I'd like to go down in terms of gift ideas. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide! :D via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2u11Y6Z

#gifts - #5 year anniversary - Tree Planting

It's our 5 year anniversary this month - I want to get my wife a romantic, traditional gift and thought of having a tree planted somewhere with a plaque and GPS coordinates to the tree so we can visit it when we are old and gray...trouble is I don't know anywhere that is guaranteed to be around 60 years from now or some place that we would even want to go. I would plant it in my yard but I know this isn't our forever home..any ideas? via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2uSgReM
#gifts - #I need help finding a gift for my 90 year old grandfather.

My grandfather's 90th birthday is quickly approaching and I have no idea what to get him. I was originally going to get him a really nice bottle of wine or whiskey but he was just recently told by his doctor to stop drinking (and he is obliging). My grandpa is the hardest person I know to get a gift for and I don't always buy him presents because of this, but it's his 90th and I feel it's important to.He doesn't buy much, and anything he wants, he buys it as soon as he sees it. He just has a bedroom in my cousin's house now, so anything that takes up too much room is out of the question. He is having a hard time moving around now and is reluctantly using a cane. He has traveled a lot and has been so many places that he has no desire to do that anymore unless it's to visit family.I'm kind of desperate here, I have no idea what I can get him. I never do, but there's the added pressure of making it something special because it's such a milestone birthday. Anything you guys can suggest would be so helpful.Feel free to ask questions, I know I'm not giving a lot of detail, I just can't think of anything. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2w2V3eW

#gifts - #Need help picking an engagement gift for my dude!

I know my boyfriend is going to propose to me pretty soon, my best guess is sometime this fall. (posting from a throwaway because he knows my account and well, it's a suprise)I have a little surprise for him as well-- I always planned to keep my last name, and he knows this. He's said in the past that, although he thinks it would be nice to share a last name, he recognizes that it's not his decision and will be fine with whatever I decide. Well, about six months ago I changed my mind. No practical reason, just a romantic gesture I'm suddenly very willing to make.So that's the gift. I just have to decide how I want to present it. I thought maybe a silver frame engraved with his (our) last name, or a big wooden K (the initial) with a personal message written on it. I'm not reeeeally satisfied with anything I've come up with though.Anyone have ideas? via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2tTYFyo
#gifts - #HELP!!!! Need unique gift ideas for my Father-in-law who is retiring

My FiL is retiring this year and my husband & I have no idea what to get him! This is a man who has everything & wants for nothing. We need to get him something useful but also sentimental or at least personalized in some way, & we want to be able to include our small daughter(his only grandbaby) in it as well if possible. If not, we will probably give him a framed picture of her or something like that for his study. He means a lot to us and he does a lot for us. The problem is his wife is very controlling and if things don't have to do with her or her kid then she tends to not let him use them/put them up, I.e. coffee cups/shirts etc. So it needs to be something that he just can't resist!!! It HAS to be THAT AWESOME! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vigzyx

#gifts - #Help me find out what my brother bought for me?

Not sure if you can ask this kind of question on this subreddit, but you guys are pretty creative so I hope it's okay.Hi, me and my brother have a little game where we try to guess what we bought for each other by giving a few tips and so on, but i'm totally clueless to what it is, so I need some help. The tips he gave me is;It's something for electronics, but at the same time not. It's something that uses/contains some kind of paper but that's not the main use for itIt's something that I will use a few times a month at first, but then more later on.It's something that I can control(not sure what this means)It's something that I can use to send stuff to companies and normal people(not a phone or a computer or so, because I already have those and his budget were €200-300 and I have more expensive stuff)It's something that he sees as an investment for life, but at the same time it might "disappear" in a few years(not sure wtf he meant with this)It's something that i'm going to start investing in also, aswell as him(it's something physical) like something you can add stuff onto.It has light, mirrors and buttons on/inside of it(not a car)He also said that I will be able to watch shows and stuff on it in the future, but not right now.He also gave me some letters of the name that it begins with, but as we live in sweden i'm not sure that it's the same name in english. It consists of two words, first word starts with P and also has an R in it, second word starts with K and also has an R in it.My sister knows what the gift is, and she said these tips are pretty far fetched, but I am able to figure it out from these tips.Things i've guessed: Smart watch, car, shares in a company, ipad, drone, camera, printer, fax machine, none of these were correct.Any ideas?? via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2hiAdVR

#gifts - #Gift for my mom (who doesn't like knick knacks and says she doesn't need anything)

Hello!I've always struggled with gift ideas - I like doing quirky, unexpected things because of an ex who was amazing at gift giving (as an example, she once surprised me with a backpacking backpack filled with gear because she knew I was going on a trip with friends later that summer. I had been expecting to use their gear.) It's not any super special occasion, but I haven't gotten my mom anything super nice/thoughtful in awhile. I did pretty typical stuff for her birthday. She is REALLY into singing/playing guitar, but has most of the equipment and such already. She has recently started getting into songwriting, so I'm thinking I could maybe get her something related to that to keep her songs organized, but idk.She is a teacher, does pottery, and is also currently figuring out a new living situation as my sister is moving out and my mom needs to find a more affordable place. Thanks for your help! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2ha5xpt

#gifts - #Looking for a wedding gift for my brother and his fiancée

I'm really stuck, and I'm so glad I found this subreddit! My younger brother is getting married this Fall. I'm looking for something unique, memorable and special for them. The details/why I'm having trouble:They do not have a gift registry as my brother didn't want to "request gifts", and I don't want anything 'utilitarian' in nature. They have a lot of money and "have everything" already. They will be honeymooning in AsiaThey're both awesome geeks. They met playing foosball; they go to Comiccon regularly, in full costume; my brother works with computers; she is big into aerial silks, rock climbing, staying active, knitting, and she reads a lot. They have two dogs and two cats. They're both big foodiesI want something memorable and unique. An "experience" type gift would also be cool, or something home-related that would last a long time, like, I don't know, a special kind of time capsule or picture frame thing that they can add things to as they build their life together or something... I'm not thinking of anything specific, just that if I'm buying something for their house, I'd like to get something meaningful and significant, vs. just a piece of art for example. I don't want gift certificates unless it's for something that's going to blow their minds and which they'll never forget. Thanks for the help! Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2u4KB4z
