Okay, well I'm going to get him something I guess, but how big of a gift should I get him? I was thinking of getting him a watch for $140. Is that too much? I feel like one year is kind of a big anniversary so it should be special and I don't mind spending that much on him but its really hard to read how much he's going to spend on me..I've always kind of spent more on gifts than him and I honestly don't mind because I'll love anything he gets me no matter the price(and tbh I hate when people spend a lot on me), but I don't want him to think I'm always going over the top or something and feel weird about it. Like sometimes I'll end up getting him a gift for an occasion I think is special and he doesn't get me anything. And its not about the gift its just awkward giving him something and then him saying he didn't get me anything and me feeling like I overdid it all night. Btw this has only happened like twice and he has gotten me gifts before without getting one back too.But I've never celebrated a one year anniversary before, only seen other people do it and I feel like it's pretty normal to get them a gift right? Should I get something smaller? How much would you expect a girl to spend on you for an anniversary? Also it came up once that he got his ex a thing for their one year anniversary and that was pretty expensive. I feel like its a big deal because I know that (hopefully) give it a few years and we'll be living together and sharing money so it probably wont be as big of a deal to get him presents.I know its not all about gifts and the time together is more important blah blah blah. Quick backstory: I have been with my boyfriend for about 3.5 years now after we met at my uni while he was doing a year abroad. In order to bridge the gap between our countries, I got a work visa once I graduated and moved in with him. However, that all comes to an end this summer, as I definitely have to move home. I want to make him or get him something special for the gap between us seeing each other again, but I have no clue where to start. I would say my max budget is around £100 for supplies or ordering anything.When we used to be long distance, I sent him sketches and small paintings that I made since he loves them, but I have done so many over the years that it seems a bit repetitive. We also have made things like photo albums and personalised calendars for each other many times before as well, so I’m looking to make him something unique.The problem is I have no clue where to start. I’m not a crafty person. A trip is a bit out of the question since we just went on a nice holiday which was our belated Xmas present to one another. He loves woodwork, but I don’t have access to make anything like that. The only other thing is that he is OBSESSED with history. Anything to do with WWII is the most interesting thing to him. He listens to endless podcasts, watches all the documentaries he can get his hands on, Band of Brothers (tv show), and books and memoirs, you name it. He loves old maps as well, World War ones or any really (he studied geology). I guess I’m just really at a loss on what to make or do for him!
