Hey!He's 12 and a half y/o, lives in Argentina. The occasion for the gift is technically the holidays, but more than anything it's the fact that we're actually seeing him at all. We haven't seen each other in 8 years.According to my cousin, his Mum, he likes music (but not as much as his sister, who we have gifts for) (I'm not sure if this means "playing music" or "listening to music" but my inclination is the latter), and he likes sports. Specifically, soccer ("futbol") and rugby, although he prefers soccer. I think he also likes cycling. They're active kids! I understand he's pretty smart for his age, too, so we could probably get away with getting him something for maybe a 14 y/o or something, if necessary.My cousin also made a point to say he does NOT like to read at all, lol.Our budget is $12-$15ish (can go a little over if necessary) and it has to be something common that we can get in a store, not online, 'cuz our flight leaves tomorrow lol (We live in an urban area of Massachusetts and can easily access tons of stores). It's not that we left it for last minute, it's that we literally have some 50 people to bring small gifts to and we've got a few left. So let me start out with saying that I have a "big" gift for my mom which is going to be a HP laptop because hers was stolen 2 years ago when we lived together and someone broke in while we were both at work and her laptop, my handgun and a few other items. So I believe that's appropriate for a gift as for she has mentioned wanting a new laptop a few times over the last few months, I'm just not sure what else to really get her. She's cleans houses for a living and has a few clients that own small business that she also clean, I was thinking of maybe getting her something to help with her work and maybe make it a bit easier on her, she's always telling me how sore she is and how much her back hurts from being on the ground and bending over to clean all day. I've ordered her a 50 pack of microfiber rags and the laptop so far, I just feel bad not getting her any small gifts even though I know she'll be more than happy and grateful with the computer alone. She enjoys red/white wine (was going to get her a wine club membership until I remembered how much she wants/needs a laptop) along with "nice/fine" cheeses, I was thinking of maybe getting her a cheese board so she doesn't have to use a plate? Also, we have a very open and friendly relationship with me being the only son/kid I tell my mom pretty much everything from my sex life (obviously not in detail or everything but she knows when I'm seeing someone for the most part lol) to work, we pretty much tell each other everything, so I was thinking of maybe getting her a gag gift, something that we both can laugh about, I've done a lot of searching on Amazon but I feel like it's just the same stuff over and over again just in a different version (example: same coffee mug "for mom" but by a different seller and SLIGHTLY worded differently) so I've had trouble with that. Husband is a bit of a nerdy introvert, enjoys playing D&D and video games, is a computer programmer. We are reasonably well off so if he has a desire he typically fills it which frustratingly leaves most easy-to-buy gifts already in his possession. He appreciates gifts the most when I've put a lot of thought and research and effort into them, rather than standard 'gifts for him' which obviously makes him much harder to shop for. He's really into DM'ing at D&D lately and has been doing lots of mini painting. 3d printing is something we're both getting into as a shared hobby as well.He's a bit neurotic about planning/anticipating events so surprise gifts are not the best for him (I've considered surprise trips/events/activities for him etc. but they don't go over well lol.)
