Some people might not care about this but I thought the title wasn’t very descriptive about why I’m getting him a gift. So this year I’m graduating from 9th grade as it is here and this teacher has really gotten me into physics to the point where I’m kinda considering it as a job option. And this is his last year before he retires as well so on graduation day I’m planning to give him this gift.So for the gift then, I would want something physics related and something that feels kinda valuable or substantial. Less like a toy and more like something that will last. Now my price range is kind of varied. Something around maybe the $60 range. It’s not that I don’t have the money to spend on something more expensive but I just don’t want him to feel bad about accepting something expensive. I know that I might be a but broad here but I can mention kind of what I think he’d appreciate.He doesn’t seem to be super into astronomy stuff, although I don’t think he dislikes it. I should also mention that he is a chemistry and math teacher too if that helps but since I only have him in physics, it’s seems the most appropriate but you can still combine those three.I have only one example to give at the moment sadly but I hope some can come with suggestions.The thing I’ve been kind of looking at are stirling engines that run on the heat of your hand. I’ve seen a lot of those but the one I was most intrigues about was quite expensive. Hello, r/Gifts ! I've posted here before and usually get great advice. This time is a very important and last minute gift that I need help with.​So, through a bunch of other things that I've had going on in my life, I lost track of time and am purchasing a gift for my "step-daughter" (not really, but that's the closest way I can describe my relationship with her). This gift would be from my significant other mostly, but he's working and doesn't have the amount of time I have to put effort into it that I do at the moment. He hasn't seen her very much over the past few years, and really for a lot of his life, even though he really would love to have a better relationship with her. She lives kind of far away and I need to have it in the mail by tomorrow if I want it to make it there by the 29th.​I don't know a whole lot about her and have only talked to her in person on one occasion. My significant other doesn't have much more knowledge because he's not very talkative. I know that she is artistic and likes to draw and write. She likes sketch books and nice, fine point pens. She has a dog that she adores. She is turning 24 and is a very mature, independent young woman who lives on her own. She isn't very girly and she works a lot (like, three jobs all together). She doesn't wear jewelry or makeup. She likes to go out to eat and to bars, but I don't know how often.​Right now, I'm thinking we will get her a polaroid type camera and film, some nice pens (if you have recommendations that I can get at a reasonable price at a Walmart or Staples, I'd appreciate it) a journal/sketch pad type notebook, some treats for her dog, and a gift card for a restaurant.​If you have any more/better/specific recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it! He would love to give her as much as possible and knows that nothing makes up for lost time but due to our schedules and the distance, we are limited.
