My (27/f) boyfriend (27/m) have a fair bit of difference between our pay scales. In most of our relationship this hasn't been an issue. I still help with a fair chunk of the bills, pay for dates from time to time, fill in my financial shortcomings with housework, cooking, repairs, ect.However, one place it has come up, is special occasions. Valentine's day, birthdays, christmas, and anniversaries have become the bane of my existance! He always buys me super nice things, which are often pretty expensive. I have asked him to keep his gifts limited, because I'm not able to return his kindness, but he always says he doesn't mind, and goes all out anyways. For a while I stuck with handmade gifts to take financials out of the equation on my end, but there are only so many afghans, plushes, and articles of clothing you can make before you end up with a ton of excess.I have asked what types of gifts he would like for different occasions, but he always go towards expensive electronics and computer parts (that he will most likely end up buying for himself at one point or another).
