#gifts - #What should I ask for from my in-laws who I share few interests with

Every year my wife and I are asked by her family to come up with a Christmas list, and every year we struggle to think of items that we want and that her parents will feel good about getting us.Yes, I can just ask for whatever video game, or nerdy thing I actually want, and they'll probably get it for me, but it comes with the knowledge that they feel like they're wasting their money buying these things. We struggle to have things in common with her side of the family at times, and I'd like to ask for something that they would feel good/excited about buying for us and that won't end up sitting in the box at our house for the rest of our lives.(15-30 range?) via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/e7afit/what_should_i_ask_for_from_my_inlaws_who_i_share/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Christmas gift ideas needed; what to get for partner's brother's family - they've got 6 children that I don't know too well

As the title says, dear ladies and gentlemen, I am struggling to figure out what to do.My partner is quite close with his brother, who's got six kids aged 1 to 15, but we don't see them too often, so we're definitely not up to date with what each one likes at the moment.Due to the fact that there is 5 years of difference between the youngest ones, I thinking about getting something separately for the baby. But with the rest of the gang I don't know if we should go for a little something separately or have a "box of goodies" with colouring books, sweets, little toys, games that the kids can choose from.Any ideas good folks? via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/e6wcmt/christmas_gift_ideas_needed_what_to_get_for/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Looking for a secret Santa gift for 50 year old father-in-law

My father-in-law is a simple man. He likes movies, Star Trek, sweets, salty snacks, talking about work, and falling asleep in his recliner. He works in heating and cooling and has every tool imaginable. Their mantel and table space is already loaded with plenty of nicknacks and tchotchkes. He doesn’t get out much aside from work. He likes fast food but I’ve only known him to go out to eat at an actual restaurant five times in the last ten years. He and my MIL like going to the casino when they get comped rooms but other than that they only leave the house for groceries. He recently had a knee replacement and is due for another before the new year. He was never a very physically active person and doesn’t have an interest in sports. He has everything he wants and needs. We are doing a $30 secret Santa with my husband’s family. I have no idea what to get this man. I’d love to get him something more than a movie or snacks. But my backup plan is a movie basket if I can’t find anything else. #gifts - #My Dad Is As Boring As They Come And Hard To Buy For - Help!

My dad is 53. He is kind of a runner (used to do a lot of races, but lately he hasn’t), avid gym goer, football referee, softball umpire, works in the oilfield, hunts, fishes, he’s a griller, man’s man, and a hardcore sleeper. He’s pretty boring.. he sleeps, rarely is home, and when he is, he doesn’t talk about any of his work or hobbies and stays quiet. But most importantly, he’s obsessed with Alaska. So much so that my mom and he are going on their first 2 week Alaskan cruise this summer. While he has many hobbies and interests, he doesn’t get excited about things. He’s always serious. So you can never tell if he likes something even if it’s related to one of his hobbies/interests. So, that’s what makes it hard. While I know what he’s interested in, I’m still at a loss. #gifts - #Guys, help a bro out because I'm clueless, literally this guy's polar opposite

I am participating in a secret santa as a mid-ish aged chick with no kids. My target is a dad of three girls (aged 6-11). I want to get him a unique gift, not just some random legos and games. He says he likes gaming, legos, and his kids. Clarifications are that he does not like Ninjago legos. He games on PS4, PC, and Switch. He prefers single-player games and hasn't bought anything new since RDR2 (I have no idea what that is).I really don't want to disappoint but I am very out of my element (I'm more of a science and book nerd). #gifts - #Gift Tradition Ideas to start with my daughter

Hi Everyone. I had a daughter a few months ago and was thinking for this Christmas I'd like to start a tradition of giving her a specific type of gift each year and was looking for suggestions. For example, Hallmark does the series ornaments where they come out with a new one each year.It doesn't have to be something in a "series" but perhaps a gift where I can give her something similar each year. Like a variation of a toy princess statue or something.Does anyone have any recommendations? If it's a series or collectible, that's preferable. It would be cool I think for her to have a collection of something that she looks forward to building every year as a gift from her Dad.Thanks! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/e6hmnr/gift_tradition_ideas_to_start_with_my_daughter/?utm_source=ifttt

#gifts - #Gift for my dad (mid 50s). Hardest ever to buy for!

I know the dad posts are common but I really am stuck on what to get my dad and would LOVE suggestions! He is so hard to buy for and does not stick to a true hobby (gets obsessed with something for a few weeks, tosses it aside and moves on to the next thing). This makes it so hard to buy for him because he will either buy whatever he wants/needs, or it will sit in his closet collecting dust. Here is a little about him:- Divorced, lives by himself and his dog.- Has been super into his drone for a few months now but literally has bought everything I could think of for it.- Owns his own construction business for a living (has every tool known to man. I've bought him warm outerwear for years on end and really looking to get something different).- Into new, tech stuff but already has iPad, iPhone, Amazon Alexa, etc..Thats it, that's all there is. The typical "gift stuff" doesn't suit him. He's not a drinker, nor into sports. He doesn't enjoy cooking per se but does it because well.. he has to lol. He would never do something like get a massage.Truly he just enjoys his children and grandkids. I am getting all of our old family movies converted to digital from 8mm cassettes so he can replay memories of all of us growing up when he wishes. He hasn't seen these tapes in oh I don't know.. probably since they were filmed. I'm also going to put together a "highlight reel", with a song, of all the best moments on tape. I know he will love that and it will definitely bring tears (he's a big softie) but I also wanted to gift him something material on top of the sentimental gift. #gifts - #Need gift suggestions for my dad!

Sorry if this post shows up twice but it was flagged and removed as spam for some reason the first time.So like the title says, looking for gifts for my dad who is EXTREMELY hard to buy for because he doesn't really have many hobbies. Here is some stuff about him:- 50s, divorced, lives alone with his Golden Retriever- His only hobby is his drone and has every accessory known to man for it already- Owns his own business in construction (Already has every tool he needs. Year after year I've bought nice warm jackets, socks, shoes, etc.. looking for something different this year!!)- Likes new tech but already has iPhone, iPad, Amazon Alexa, etc..- Likes history documentariesThats honestly it. He's a super simple man. Goes to work, comes home and cooks dinner, and watches TV or hangs out with his dog. The weekends he might be with us (family), friends or running errands. He doesn't want for much because he buys anything he needs. He is a sucker for sentimental stuff tho. This year I am converting all of our old 8mm cassettes into digital so he can watch all the memories we made growing up, most of which I can't imagine he's seen since they were filmed, if at all. I'm also going to make a "highlight" reel of all the best on-camera moments and put a song to it all (guaranteed tear-jerker :D). But I also wanted to gift him something material on top of the sentimental gift. #gifts - #DIY gifts for teenage girls

Hi all! I hope you can help me out with this. My husband and I adopted a family for Christmas through Operation Santa. The family requested a lot of basic necessities, clothes, shoes, basic household stuff. Because we have to pay for postage on everything we send, we bought a few of the specific requests and are sending gift cards for the family to buy the rest of the heavier stuff. We have a little bit of space leftover in the flat rate boxes, and I was thinking of making some stuff for the teenage girls (12 and 14). I’m a pretty decent seamstress and artist and have a Cricut vinyl cutting machine. I already personalized some water bottles for them. Some of the girls requests lead me to believe they follow some of the vsco girl fashion (requested big hoodies, leggings, checkered vans, crocs and led lights). What kind of DIY stuff should I make? I already made some hexagon wall/furniture decals and scrunchies. I could probably make makeup bags, vinyl stickers, something to hang photos on. What else?TIA via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/e6a8x6/diy_gifts_for_teenage_girls/?utm_source=ifttt
