My child and I were recently in a bad car accident and taken to separate hospitals. He’s home now but I’ve been in the hospital for 2 weeks with more time to go, and will be in an in house therapy center after this. So my husband had been running back and forth between hospitals in different counties and handling all of my disability and insurance paperwork. After that we’ll live with my parents until I’m able to take care of our son independently while my husband works. I know living with my parents is going to uproot his entire life and he’s already so stressed. We’re used to a quiet environment and good enough internet for his crazy computer setup to play Halo and drink a couple beers. We won’t be able to have that there. I’m looking for something relaxing he can do and a way for him to have a minute to himself sometimes.TL;DR - I almost died in a car accident and my husband has been amazing through the process, but he deserves something fun or relaxing he can do while we’re living with my parents. I probably spent $100 per basket. They're each married and have 2 kids. I felt like it was well received. The gift card (which was for $50) was the main gift and then everything else was just to fill out the experience.For my mom and dad I spent $100 on a local restaurant gift card and then put in a basket with a bottle of wine (for my dad) and some nice hot tea (for my mom).I actually felt I did a better job last year than I had in prior years where I would wait too long and then just try and jumble too much together. I would end up spending too much and it always felt disorganized.Anyway, I'm thinking about going the same route this year, but with a different themes. Okay, a little backstory. Me and my brother have had a little tradition between us for about 6 years now, where we gift each other a rock, and it's been passed between us for a while now. Well, this years, my brother forgot he gave me the rock last time, and now is convinced he lost the rock and the tradition is over. So what I'm asking is suggestion for a way to cleverly hide the rock this year. Every time we gave each other the rock, it's always just been in a gift box, or just had a bow around, but I want to make this year different and special. Don't hold back with your ideas though. It can be from the extravagant to the simple(I'd prefer the moderately simple though). I might find inspiration in any of them. I don’t know her too well and we are doing a secret Santa. My idea was doing sorta a themed gift; movie night. Awhile ago I saw her doing tie dye and she seems sorta crafty so I wanted to get her something she could do while watching movies such as cross stitching. She is a photographer but I couldn’t think of a gift to give that’s in the price range except maybe a camera bag which I’m going to assume she owns already. She’s also come in for tea so I’ll get some exotic teas so it’s something a bit different. Of course some snacks so maybe some nice cookies and popcorn but I feel my gift isn’t that exciting or it isn’t suited for her age.
