I really could use some help. I have a friend who is really going through a tough time. A little background without divulging too much personal info:She and her husband have been happily married for years and have a very close and loving relationship. They are two of the kindest people I have ever met. Their biggest wish was to have kids but this proved difficult. At great (and lasting) physical cost to herself, my friend underwent IVF treatments and had a total of 4 kids. Two boys (different ages - oldest is a preteen, second son is around 8-9) and two girls (fraternal twins around 4 years old). The twins caused lasting physical issues in her that require weekly treatments and she is now immunocompromised. She never complains. She is just thrilled with her babies. She and her husband have incredibly close relationships with their kids. Their worlds revolve around these kids and they are super involved. They are what I've always considered aa the gold standard when it comes to family and parenting.Their eldest hit some issues, though (and unbeknownst to them) and a school "friend" convinced him that he was a burden and should end his life. There were no signs for my friend and her husband to pick up on. Their son attempted to take his own life by following directions of this "friend". Luckily my friend found her son in the nick of time. Unresponsive but alive. He was sent on a life flight to a children's hospital.Now, this is all happening during the COVID-19 crisis so medical response is stretched to the limit and there are additional restrictions. They can only see their boy for two hours a day and only one person at a time. So Mom goes from 12-1 and Dad goes from 6-7pm, every day. They have no clue when he will be released. He is in bad shape both physically and mentally. Physically he suffers from lack of motor control and cognitive issues as a side effect from the attempt on his life. Emotionally, he is worse. These are parents who are always extremely close with their kids. Totally involved. This is killing them.A fundraiser for food delivery gift cards has been set up and we have participated. But I want to do more. I want to send something that will make them all smile, if even for just a moment. I was toying with the idea of sending flowers and adding bear stuffed animals to the order. So essentially I would send a bouquet of flowers and 4 stuffed teddy bears. (One bear for each child, including the eldest). I've even thought of just sending Easter baskets to each of the kids. I want to make sure I send something specifically for the kids because they have to not only be scared for their brother but probably feel a little left out because mom and dad have to spend a lot of time focusing on the eldest. And if when they arent focused on him, they wont be at 100% when they are at home due to constant worry. So, I was hoping to be able to send something for the kiddos and then something for mom and dad too. They are hundreds of miles from me so it has to be something I can order to be delivered. Any help or advice would really be appreciated.
