#gifts - #Dad's 60th Birthday

My dad is turning 60 in June and I want to start thinking about what I should get for him or do for him. In general, I don't have trouble buying gifts for my dad for most birthdays, Christmas, etc. but I am looking for ideas that are a little more special or unique for this milestone birthday. Budget isn't really strict, I'm thinking maybe $200-$250A little about my dad and his likes:He is retired and mostly putters around the house. He is into sports (NHL, MLB, NFL/CFL). One thing I thought of is tickets to an MLB game since baseball season will be in full swing when it's his birthday, but that would put him on the hook to travel at least to Toronto. It wouldn't be a huge burden for him, but I'd like to get something that doesn't force him to use it at a certain day/time or make him travel. He also regularly attends CFL games so that wouldn't be particularly special for a birthday gift.He doesn't really golf but might go just to the driving range about once a year.He cooks/grills. Has a backyard smoker that is used frequently during the summer, a BBQ rotisseries, all that jazz.He travels. He and my mom go on at least two cruises per year and often a third trip somewhere (I believe this year they already have an Europe trip planned for end of August/early September). He's into history and some nostalgia type stuff - e.g. old photos of our city. '____ from the year/day you were born' could be an idea for something he'd get a kick out of, if the blank is filled in with something cool or unique (not just the local newspaper.. but I can't think of any other ideas). He is NOT a sentimental guy. For example, putting together a bunch of photos of our family from the last 30 years would not be something he'd really love or even feel like it was much of a gift. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2kLn5rM
