I've never bought an engagement present for someone before, so I thought I'd post to this sub for some help. My friend (22m) is having his engagement party September 3rd, and I'm not sure what to get him. His fiancee and he don't have a house, and won't have one for several years (He's a Marine and is stationed across the country). I was thinking a split gift, something for his fiancee (my girlfriend is picking out some sort of makeup pallet for her). And I'm stuck thinking what to get my best bud. He's not fancy, loves rum and video games. But I wasn't sure what would be considered appropriate. Budget of 70-100 dollars ideally, can stretch a bit if necessary.
