Hello, relatively poor American guy here going to Beijing next month to meet my girlfriend's family. Apparently it is custom to bring gifts, but they are in a totally different wealth bracket than I'm used to... The father recently bought the mother a $4000 watch for example.. and I have no clue what to get them.I could probably spend $100-$200 each, but over $150 is uncomfortable, because I have to also get gifts for her cousins that I'll be staying with.
