So my boyfriend (unofficially) doesn't like his birthday and doesn't like getting gifts. He's told me that people usually fail to get him gifts that he would actually like and has given me many examples of gifts he has received in the past that he didn't like, often because the buyer had more selfish motivations for the gift, such as flashing wealth. He was very insistent that I don't get him anything for his birthday and I was pushing for him to let me at least try to get him something that he actually wants and we eventually came to a compromise of a "trial gift". If I can get him a small gift that he really likes then I can have the privilege of getting him a birthday gift. There's a little bit of pressure on this trial gift, so I want to make sure I get him something really good.So here's a little about him and his interests:He's a cinephile. Absolutely loves movies. He also likes shows like Brooklyn 99, Suits, How I Met Your MotherHe's a little posh and into high society things, like suits (I can't afford to buy him a suit, but maybe things that typically accompany suits?)--the opposite side of this is that he doesn't like things that are cheap or tacky and this includes any novelty items or clothing. He's a bit of a gamer, I know he's into World of Warcraft, Idle Heroes, and Magic: The Gathering, all of which I know nothing about. He's into martial arts like Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu JitsuHe's a bit of a drinker, he likes whiskey. He's a big reader and he's into stuff like Norse Mythology. He told me that his favorite series is the Cherub series (he's English and I'm American but apparently this was a really popular series of novels for kids in England? I'm guessing kind of like a Percy Jackson equivalent)Any help or suggestions would be amazing. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/918zsa/need_help_finding_gift_for_boyfriend_who/?utm_source=ifttt
