My extended family does a Christmas stocking exchange each year where everyone puts one thing in everyone else’s stocking. It can be fun for the family members you’re close with, but killer for those you don’t know as well (say, the uncle you see maybe twice a year). Add to that, I’m actually responsible for 3 items per person, to cover myself, my husband, and child.I hate to give candy because by Christmas Day, I feel pretty tired of holiday treats. I also try to stay away from lotion/lip balm/etc. since someone else always seems to give those out. I love giving useful gadget-type things, like cord organizers or unique kitchen tools.
