#gifts - #Gift idea for my dad

I’m desperately trying to find a Christmas gift for my dad that is under $40.A little about him: My dad is a carpenter that lives in a rural area. He enjoys being outside, listening to music, reading, doing puzzles/games. However, he hates all of the typical “dad” things. He’s not into sports, is completely clueless about technology, doesn’t hunt or fish anymore, doesn’t grill, quit drinking years ago, etc... He is also extremely practical, and doesn’t want new versions of things he already has or most trendy items. He works all the time, so he doesn’t spend as much time as he used to on hobbies. Here is some of the specifics that he likes.Books: Mark Twain, Stephan King, biographies and autobiographies of the founding fathers (Franklin, Jefferson, etc)Music: Rolling Stones, Frank Zappa, Grateful Dead, anything on Sirius’ Outlaw CountryTV: River Monsters, Ice Pilots, westerns, some show about rednecks digging ginsengMovies: Blazing Saddles, Airplane, Cool Hand LukeGames: mostly chess and free cellHe has been interested in military vehicles (he owned a Pinzgauer and a couple Unimogs), small planes, and MG roadsters, but he hasn’t had much time to mess with any of those hobbies in a while.Anyway. I’m all out of ideas. Last year I got him a drone, which he enjoyed. But I have no idea what to get. I’m looking for book ideas and/or games or puzzles that might appeal to him. Or, honestly, any idea. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a0zxxw/gift_idea_for_my_dad/?utm_source=ifttt
