My family does a $40 gift swap each year with a theme. All presents submitted for the swap must fit the theme in some way. Last year we started a new tradition of awarding a prize for the gift that is the most clever/imaginative use of the theme. The way it works is that as each person opens a gift, someone can nominate it to be in contention for the prize. If at least one person seconds the nomination, it makes it into the finals. At the end, everyone casts a vote for one of the finalists and the person with the most votes wins the prize.Previous themes: "Gadgets", "The Letter S", "Red and Green", "Cozy", "Heat", and "Wood".
