#gifts - #How to surprise boyfriend with trip for his birthday?

Hey, for my boyfriend's birthday I've organized and paid for a trip (flights, accomodation) this summer that we've discussed in the last few months. That's not a surprise trip per se as we've discussed this beforehand, but the surprise for this part is that I've paid for them. On top of that, I've organized and paid for another trip to another country he wanted to visit but was not in a financial situation where it was feasible to visit alongside the others we have discussed. This would be an actual surprise trip.I face twoissues now, One is the actual giving of this gift when the day comes. The only idea I have right now is to wrap a hoodie of mine that he likes around the tickets for the trip we've discussed and wrapping that in gift paper. After he opens that and calms down from the surprise, I'll give him the actual surprise trip. I don't have any idea how to do that part, because I don't want to just give him an envelope or something. I think he'd quickly get an idea of what it might be if I do it like that. The other issue is that I need him to pay his half of the accomodation for one of the three locations. He saved up money to buy himself the tickets to 2 out of the 3 locations (with accomodation) so I want to know how I can bring it up that I'd like him to pay his half of one of the accomodations. I don't want it to sound like he's buying his own gift in a sense.Any ideas? Appreciate any input(I've planned everything so it's not some crazy "We fly tomorrow morning, hope you can sort out all your shit by then) via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/avpn87/how_to_surprise_boyfriend_with_trip_for_his/?utm_source=ifttt
