Hey everyone, I'm (19F) looking for a gift for my boyfriend (19) who will be turning 20 soon. We've been together for a little over a year.He is really into rings but doesn't like to spend a lot of money on them, thus ending up with quite poor quality ones that bend and break and whatnot. So I was thinking I'd get him a good quality ring engraved with his initials and with his favourite gemstone on it.I'm sure he would like the ring, but I'm wondering if the significance that we usually apply to rings would throw him off? It's not meant to be a promise ring or anything committing: it's just a ring.I know you guys don't know my boyfriend personally, but I guess I'm asking how you would feel if your newish girlfriend/boyfriend gave you a ring for a birthday present.
