TL;DR- Do I get my male friend who just bought a house a fun gift, something he can use, or just cash?My best friend of four years has a birthday coming up and I’m not sure what to get him. He’s been pretty stressed lately so I was thinking of getting him something fun/distracting like a new game or movie. However he just bought a house a couple months ago and I was thinking maybe it would be better to get him a practical gift he can use in the house but I don’t really even know what would be helpful. At this point I’m considering just giving him a visa gift card but that honestly seems boring and unimaginative. That being said I know he’s struggling financially so maybe the gift card would be the best route, but I think he would be uncomfortable accepting money from me. My ideas so far have been: Gaming gear + a game A smoker (he loves grilling and barbecue) A gift card to a local hardware store A visa gift card Any combination of the above ideas.I don’t really care how much I spend but I have a problem with over giving and don’t want to go totally crazy. Any input would be very helpful! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/bke0ip/practical_gift_or_fun_gift/?utm_source=ifttt
