Hey reddit, so my best friend recently lost her brother, and our birthdays coming up in a few weeks. Basically, her brother and I share the same birthday, her birthday is a couple days after. We'd always shared our birthday celebrations and it was a really special time for the three of us. But now that he's gone, I know it won't be the same and I want to get/make something that would commemorate him. Other than going to visit his grave with her family or getting her a book about grief/loss of a loved one, what could I do? Everything I look up seems cheesy. I want her to know that he's not forgotten and ideally I'd like to get something that the whole family can appreciate. I've thought of doing a lantern/balloon release thing but I don't know if that would be very painful to go through. I want to give them something that just commemorates HIM. Something they can go back to in private and have to themselves. Thanks for any advice. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/bwxkwn/gift_for_best_friend_after_losing_her_brother/?utm_source=ifttt
