#gifts - #Would you appreciate notice for a surprise holiday?

TL;DR not sure if I should surprise BF a week before whisking him away, or give him some notice so he can get excited too.So my partner has a big birthday this year and I was to surprise him with a holiday. Think planes / beaches / theme parks / adventures / zoo ... all the things he loves. His birthday is Christmas Day, and I have booked for for us to go away on 7th Jan. Is that too late notice to surprise him? Should I tell him late November as an early present? Just so he has time to get excited. Or do you think so close to the date is more fun because it’s literally the following week I get to whisk him away for 10 days? Also - I have spoken to his boss to pre book and authorise his leave (he’ll have no idea), and have cleared with his uni that he won’t have any work due that fortnight. I want to give him an all expenses amazing time away, but how much notice do you recommend? What would you like? I’d personally like to be told right before going, as the ultimate surprise / excitement. He’s a lover of surprises, but something so big I want to get right. / excitement.
