#gifts - #Expensive present advice

So, my SO and I are having our first anniversary in less than two months and I need some advice re: present.I have plenty of ideas and a list of things I would like to buy for him eventually, so the kind of advice I need is this: he's not that excited by dates and anniversaries as I am, which is totally fine, but I'm worried that if I buy something expensive for him he will feel like he has to reciprocate or that he'll feel guilty for not putting in the same effort and/or money (I wouldn't have a problem with that, but I think he would).I have no problems spending money on him because literally he is the best, but at the same time he's a very practical person and I don't know if buying something pricey for him would make him feel embarrassed if he doesn't get me anything or forgets the date.Do I risk creating an awkward situation by buying something pricey (that I'm sure he will love and/or would probably buy himself at some point), or do I give up on the idea and stick to something cheap and symbolic?(Also by 'expensive' I mean something that would be good for like a BIG birthday rather than a first anniversary, it's not like I can afford to spend $$$$)Thanks in advance! via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/d35m7r/expensive_present_advice/?utm_source=ifttt
