#gifts - #A gift for my sister (more like a mother) and her husband when they come visit

I'm in my first semester of law school for a rigorous JD/PhD program. It's kicking my ass but I'm grateful to be here, and the main reason it's even possible is because of the support of my sister and her husband. They were my only real support system throughout my 20s (my mom died when I was 22 and my dad wasn't super involved). They drove me to rehab in my early twenties. After finally getting my shit together, they let me use their car and live in their house rent-free. If it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have been able to take unpaid research jobs or internships, or do any of the things necessary to get into a program like this. They're coming for a visit in about three weeks. It's a big deal that they're coming from 1000 miles away to see my school and apartment. I am not great at expressing my gratitude fully, and beside my emotional toast at a grad luncheon I haven't been able to thank them the way I'd like to.I want to not only thank them for coming to visit and being involved in my life, but also show appreciation for how they got me here. They've changed my life.I have no money and don't know anyone in the town where my school is, hell- I don't even know restaurants to recommend when they come visit! Any suggestions would be appreciated. How on earth do I thank the people who essentially gave me parental support for years?? via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/d9tie9/a_gift_for_my_sister_more_like_a_mother_and_her/?utm_source=ifttt
