My dad is a computer scientist and quite the nerd. I'd like to get him a gadget or "hackable" thing since he loves to tinker and try to take apart things to make them work in different (but still useful) ways. I've tried searching online but then you'll only find nerd/geek stuff (so basically hipster toys) and not really an interesting piece of hardware with weird but actual uses...
