Hey there, so first, some background. I've been dating a girl from China (I'm American) for close to two months. There is still a lot I'm learning about her culture and interests, and frankly I don't have a lot of experience getting gifts for girlfriends as it's been a few years since my last serious relationship. The other thing is, while I do make a decent bit with my job, I'm investing the majority of my income in stock (which she doesn't know about) so my disposable income is limited, whereas she comes from an extremely wealthy family as an only child and has grown up constantly receiving plenty of expensive gifts from her family.Generally speaking, money is not an issue in our relationship, but she has told me stories of things she has bought for her mother which her mother rejected for being too cheap (they were not) and things her parents have gotten her that she didn't like. So I'm kind of at a loss as to where to begin thinking about Christmas with her because I'm not at a point where I feel comfortable spending a ton of money on a gift, especially this early in the relationship, and ultimately I'm just not sure what I can get her that she would really like.I'm leaning towards just being upfront with her about it and seeing if she could point me in the right direction; she is very kind and understanding, so I think that would be my best option, but I wanted to check and see what you guys might have to add or suggest? Thanks in advance for any advice. via /r/Gifts https://www.reddit.com/r/Gifts/comments/a1cm1j/need_advice_on_christmas_gift_for_a_foreign/?utm_source=ifttt
