#gifts - #What's something I can send my 23 [f] friend across the country?

She's one of those cheerleader girls who's very happy and bright all the time. I sent her lindt chocolate last year. I was thinking maybe a gift basket with snacks in it but I'm open to any ideas. Budget is about $50 via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vbofDN

#gifts - #Gift Idea for 2nd Long Distance Anniversary

So my girlfriend and I have been together long distance almost 2 years and I'm struggling to think of a good anniversary gift.Ideally i'd like to visit her but the intercontinental trip coupled with our schedules makes that impossible. That throws the traditional romantic date & flowers out the window. Additionally, international shipping is less than safe or reliable so Jewellery isn't an option either. All I can think of so far is a love letter, but I wanna do better than that...any good ideas? via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vjGXoQ

#gifts - #What should I [17M] gift to my girlfriend [16F] for her birthday?

Well, her birthday is in couple of days and I realize that I don't really have an idea of what I want to buy for her. We've been dating for couple of months now and this is the first time one of us will be buying a gift (her birthday is the first to come). She likes Game of Thrones, likes to read (has lots of books), likes EDM-electronic music parties and that's about it as far as her interests (that I'm aware of) go.At first I wanted to buy her some game of thrones related t-shirt but everything I've seen on the internet is super cringeworthy, and, as far as amazon goes I don't think it would arrive on time.I also looked in to buying her perfume but realized it will either be:a) Expensiveb) She wont like the smell but would wear it so I don't feel "bad"Same goes for make-up, wanted to buy her a gift card for sephora but again, I really don't wanna spend too much money on this cause its the first birthday and I would basically be forcing her to spend as much as I did when my birthday comes. So, in the end, I don't wanna spend too much for this birthday, up to 50 EUR. And I also want to buy her something that would seem more personal and more thought-out.I know that I would personally feel really uncomfortable getting an expensive gift from her, and she is also shy, so I don't think she would like it either. So, if you could suggest me something, I'd be really grateful. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2wJtWsj

#gifts - #Need help gifting terminally ill grandfather

Let me get the point across. A very good friend of mine discovered earlier that they might be spending their last Christmas with his grandfather later this year. I wanted to gift them something handmade or so, something that is not bought from any market or so, something special, the kind they like. I later came up with an idea, which appeared to me out of thin air. The very integral element of the concept, was the story behind it. What story should my gift tell? How about a small project, in which I assemble digital signatures from people whose name is Jose (the grandfather's name is Jose) and make some work of art with that, some card? I wanted to spread the message, a universal one at that, that there are many people with your name and features, but there is only one you, a person with a story and a life of their own, someone unique. I wanted to remind him of the life he lived and the people who will remember him in the end. I hope you get the idea. I plan to accompany it with some story or poem I wrote on my own. It doesn't matter if your name is Jose or not. I just want you to create digital signatures, like some PNG, with transparent or white backgrounds, doesn't matter even if the signature is made up. I just want to make a man happy. tl;dr - Make a digital signature with a clear background of the name Jose and send it to me for gifting a dying man. Thank you for you valuable time and please do help as soon as possible. If you have any doubts at all, let me know. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2wB896I

#gifts - #Gift ideas for a 9yr old who loves to read and game

Hello,I am struggling to find something for my soon to be 9yr old son. Generally, he loves reading and gaming and science documentaries/experiments. He managed to read all the Harry Potter books at age 7, and lots of other novels since, to give you some indication of him as a person. But I am struggling to find something, simply because I want something other than books, just this one time (his mother will not be happy with this) but I think he needs something new.Apart from fidget spinners, I have no idea what he'd like, or what his friends play with so he could play with them.I would love to build him a small PC, but his mother would go crazy at the idea.We don't live in a child friendly area, so he gets limited use out of things like scooters and bikes as well.I hope you can see why I am struggling.Thank you in advance. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2viFijg

#gifts - #Gift idea for friend & assistant

Hi there, my assistant is about to go off for a 1 year maternity leave with her 2nd child, a boy. She's so much more than my assistant though. Our relationship is platonic but she really means the world to me and we've become close over the past couple of years.I've never been a very good gift giver so I'm hoping for some help. I'm looking to spend up to a couple hundred dollars. I was hoping to find a gift that will show her how much I appreciate her, her dedication to work, how much I'll miss her, her friendship, and to celebrate her new son. To complicate things just a bit, there's a chance I'll be offered a new role within our company that would see me move away before she returns to work. She's aware of this and is very concerned. Some things that may help:We're in Canada. She's married and is in her mid 30's.She really struggled to achieve this pregnancy and it's been very difficult with nearly unbearable sciatic pain, and several scares with bleeding etc. Everything is well though, the baby is healthy and she's due in a bit over a month. She's from a small town. She has very modern taste. She's very generous, she Spends a lot of time helping others. She doesn't like to be touched by strangers (no massages, etc). Thanks in advance, let me know if there's something else I could add to help! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2g3l6PD

#gifts - #House-ware suggestions for my fighting game obsessed S.O.

If there are any redditors here that are into fighting games like Street Fighter, my S.O. is obsessed. He is also really into DOTA, Starcraft, and Splatoon. His birthday is in about a month, and I wont be able to see him on the big day (I had to move for law school). I want to send him something special besides just a vinyl figurine or gift card, but I really don't know much about the fighting game community? We recently got a house after only having our dinky 1 bedroom apt, and it's pretty sparse, especially because I can't be there for a while. I would like to get him some cool video game themed house ware. Maybe kitchen stuff? Or if there's some amazing console holder thing? Or display case for his joystick thing?Any and all feedback is so appreciated. Thank you in advance! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vYLAG9

She's been a part of the family for over 10 years and her birthday is coming up.My budget I'm thinking is in the $15-$20 area but don't worry about price because I'll probably reference this for other birthdays and holidays. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2x1SZEt

#gifts - #Looking for a unique gift for SO

I'm sure there's always people asking for gift ideas for their partners. My girlfriend and I both turn 21 this year and I'm unsure what to get her. We're going to Japan later this year so we're both not planning on spending much but unfortunately I have to buy first. I'm thinking a maximum of $100 (AUD) and am looking for something unique and personal. I'm hoping to either buy her a nice little selection of gifts rather than 1 expensive one (but am not against the idea). I'm happy to craft something simple that will hold meaning for her but can't think of anything at all. She doesn't need clothing or jewellery. Normally we would go on weekend getaways and stuff but with our upcoming trip it's unnecessary and unfeasible. Anything I could make, or small cute gifts that will be unique are what I'm mostly after. Things that might be helpful for our upcoming trip might also work. I'm really grateful for anyone who can provide me any help. Thanks! via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2ifA8lZ

#gifts - #Need help finding an engagement gift for my buddy.

I've never bought an engagement present for someone before, so I thought I'd post to this sub for some help. My friend (22m) is having his engagement party September 3rd, and I'm not sure what to get him. His fiancee and he don't have a house, and won't have one for several years (He's a Marine and is stationed across the country). I was thinking a split gift, something for his fiancee (my girlfriend is picking out some sort of makeup pallet for her). And I'm stuck thinking what to get my best bud. He's not fancy, loves rum and video games. But I wasn't sure what would be considered appropriate. Budget of 70-100 dollars ideally, can stretch a bit if necessary. I was thinking perhaps a nice bottle of rum and something else, maybe a movie set or something like that. Any advice on what's appropriate? via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vIwDJT

#gifts - #Ideas for a gift as a thank you to my dentist.

My dentist did some cosmetic work for free today. Fixing a gap in my front teeth that would have been roughly 2500.00 to fix. I asked for her opinion on how to fix it, and without hesitation she worked on my teeth for two hours. She gave my my entire smile back for free! Just out of the kindness of her heart! What could I get her as a thank you gift? The receptionist told me she likes dry red wine. Any other ideas?? #gifts - #Gifts for great grandma?

I'm trying to do early Christmas shopping in order to get decent deals since I'm in college (thus broke). I really have no idea what to get my great grandma though. She's in her 80's, and she doesn't get out much other than doctor appointments. Taking her places for fun isn't really an option anymore since she has limited mobility and that she can hardly hear. She doesn't really do much other than watch tv with my great aunt (she's pretty much her live-in caretaker), and I've never really seen her interested in anything in particular my entire life besides giant table-sized puzzles with tiny pieces. I thought about getting her a puzzle, but the last time I was visiting her she made a comment about how she can hardly see anything up close anymore... So that's probably not a good idea. For the past 5 years I've seen everyone give her fluffy socks and blankets, but not much else. I'm sure she has enough for a new pair of socks every day for a whole year by now. So, what kind of gifts can you get grandparents that they can really enjoy? I don't have a lot of time to visit them throughout the year, and it would be nice to give her something useful/meaningful. via /r/Gifts http://ift.tt/2vGY8Sf
