I got him a portable food cooker and that went over well. Hes got all the travel bags he could ever need, and I'm stuck. Mostly hes the type of guy to buy whatever he wants when he wants so hes super hard to buy for. My dad is the helper–always doing things for others. He always says he doesn’t want or need anything.Background: I’d like to get him one nice thing, but nothing too expensive (I’m still a grad student). So a couple hundred could work, but anything bordering over $500 USD will be an issue. He has a suburban, which he loves. Maybe a top of the line car accessory?He is a workaholic, so he doesn’t have much free time for reading, etc. I don’t want to get him a gift that requires any “work” (like a journal to fill out/a craft/anything that needs to be put together). He’s not a fan of massages. He has Netflix/Hulu already. Lately this has been my go-to gift for people who are hard to buy for.This company has set up scavenger hunts in cities all around the world. You buy a "ticket" and it entitles the recipient to do a scavenger hunt in the city of their choice any time in the next 2 years.When you redeem a ticket, the app sends you clues to follow. It will lead you to historical places, public art installations, and other points of interest. It will also send you trivia questions, photo challenges, and other extras along the way.It typically takes about an hour and a half, walking maybe 1-2 miles altogether. You can stop along the way for snacks or shopping, etc. if you want to be more leisurely.They suggest that you buy a ticket for everyone that's going, but you don't have to, you can just have it on one phone if you want to save money. We are in the military and he is a higher rank than me as well, and is partially my “boss” (training lead). I’ve asked a few coworkers for help that know him more than I do and they brushed it off and said “figure it out”. The best I’ve come up with is mini-desk games (I found a miniature desk corn hole game and some others), but they wouldn’t ship or be here in time.
